3、580 07213 4 Foreword This British Standard is part of a composite standard in the Aerospace Series of British Standards that specifies general requirements for equipment in aircraft. An introduction to the complete British Standard is given in BS3G100-0. This British Standard details salt mist tests

4、 for two grades of operational severity to be applied, where applicable, to equipment in aircraft. It is published pending a complete revision when full international agreement has been reached by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) Technical Committee TC 50 and the International Org

5、anization for Standardization (ISO) Technical Committee TC 20 in relation to standard methods of test to ensure reproducibility of test results. Severity 1 test is compatible with those salt spray tests specified in a number of “G” Series Aerospace British Standards. These standards will be amended

6、in due course to invoke this British Standard. This standard makes reference to the following British Standards: BS 3G 100, General requirements for equipment in aircraft Part0:Introduction; BS 2011, Basic environmental testing procedures Part 2.1Kb: Test Kb. 10、1ii blankBS3G100-2.3.8:1972 BSI 02-2000 1 1 Scope This British Standard gives details of salt mist tests for two grades of severity, which may be applied to equipment in aircraft to determine their resistance to the corrosive effects of salt-laden atmospheres that exist at sea, in coastal areas and

11、in certain desert areas. It should also be read in conjunction with BS 3G 100-0. 2 Tests and test methods Salt mist tests shall be conducted in accordance with the requirements of BS 2011-2.1Kb “Test Kb. Salt mist” and the relevant equipment specification. The relevant equipment specification shall

12、always state which grade of severity test shall be applied. 1) Severity 1 is applicable to equipment exposed to severe salt contamination conditions, e.g.hovercraft, undercarriage bays, etc. 2) Severity 2 tests should be applied in less exacting conditions where a salt-laden atmosphere will occasion
