It was adopted by that organization from IECPublication598-2-9:1987 edition2 and Amendment No.1(1993), which is identical with the European Standard. This Section of BS4533 supersedes BS4533-102.9:1981, which is withdrawn. The foreword and prefa

8、ce of IEC Publication598-2-9:1987 edition2, which do not form part of the text ofEN60598-2-9, have been quoted in a national appendix, Annexes designated “normative” are part of the body of the standard. Annexes designated “informative” are given for information only. National appendices are designa

24、2000 2 Brief history The CENELEC Questionnaire Procedure performed for finding out whether or not IEC598-2-9 (second edition,1987) could be accepted without textual changes, has shown that no common modifications were necessary for the acceptance as European Standard (EN). The Reference Document was

25、 submitted to the CENELEC members for formal vote and acceptance by CENELEC. Technical text The text of the International Standard IEC598-2-9 (second edition,1987) was approved by CENELEC on1988-09-13 as a European Standard. 33、ction of Part2 of IEC Publication598 specifies requirements for photo and film luminaires (non-professional) for use with tungsten filament lamps on supply voltages not exceeding250V, including low-pressure tungsten halogen lamps specified in IEC Publication357 with the reference357-IEC-3155 or uniq

34、ue lamp designation. It is to be read in conjunction with those sections of Part1 to which reference is made. 9.2 General test requirements The provisions of Section0 of Publication598-1 apply. The tests described in each appropriate section of Part1 shall be carried out in the order listed in this

35、section of Part2. 9.3 Definitions For the purposes of this section, the definitions of Section1 of Publication598-1 apply together with the following definitions: 9.3.1 rated maximum operating time and rated minimum resting time the maximum operating time and minimum resting time between operating p

36、eriods at rated voltage assigned to the luminaire by the manufacturer 9.3.2 low-pressure tungsten halogen lamp tungsten halogen lamp having a working gas pressure below10 5Pa(1bar) NOTE 1In order to ensure non-interchangeability, the low-pressure lamps are longer than tungsten halogen photographic l

37、amps having a working gas pressure above10 5Pa(1bar). NOTE 2The packaging of low-pressure lamps is provided with a marking indicating clearly that it contains one or more low-pressure tungsten halogen lamps. 9.4 Classification of luminaires Luminaires shall be classified in accordance with the provi

38、sions of Section2 of Publication598-1, except that Class0 is excluded. 9.5 Marking The provisions and position of marking of Section3 of IEC598-1 apply together with the requirements of subclauses9.5.1 to9.5.5. 9.5.1 Luminaires not designed for continuous operation shall be marked either on the lumi

39、naire or on a label attached to the supply cord supplied with the luminaire, with the rated maximum operating time or, if applicable, with the rated maximum operating time and rated minimum resting time. Example: “Maximum operating time15min Minimum resting time15min.” 9.5.2 Luminaires shall be mark

40、ed with the type and the rated current of each fuse used in the luminaire, in accordance with IECPublication357. The manufacturer shall include in the instruction leaflet supplied with the luminaire a full description of the fuses and lamps used in the luminaire and a cautionary notice in accordance

41、 with IECPublication357, if halogen lamps are to be used. 9.5.3 Luminaires shall be clearly marked, either on the luminaire or on a label attached to the supply cord supplied with the luminaire, with the following warning: “Disconnect from the supply before lamp changing or servicing.” 9.5.4 The mar

42、king specified inSub-clauses9.5.1 to9.5.3 is not required in more than one language on the luminaire; translations may be given in the instruction leaflet supplied with the luminaire. The marking specified inSub-clause9.5.3 is not required if the lamp or fuse replacement can be effected only after t

43、he luminaire has been disconnected from the supply. 9.5.5 Luminaires for use with low-pressure tungsten halogen lamps shall be marked with the following warnings: 1) “Only use lamps which comply with Sheet357-IEC-3155 or unique lamp designation.” 2) “The luminaire may only be used complete with lamp

44、 cover.” NOTEThis marking may be omitted if the luminaire does not operate without the lamp cover. 9.6 Construction The provisions of Section4 of Publication598-1 apply together with the requirements of Sub-clauses9.6.1 to9.6.3. 9.6.1 Each lamp circuit in the luminaire shall be individually fused. 9

45、.6.2 Safety screens 9.6.2.1 Luminaires incorporating other than low-pressure tungsten halogen lamps: A safety screen shall be fitted to a luminaire incorporating halogen lamps other than low-pressure tungsten halogen lamps to provide protection against the effects of a shattering lamp. NOTERequireme

46、nts relating to the construction of the screen are given inAppendix A.EN60598-2-9:1989 4 BSI 01-2000 9.6.2.2 Luminaires incorporating low-pressure tungsten halogen lamps: Low-pressure tungsten halogen lamps do not require a safety screen complying withAppendix A but only a simple lamp cover for exam

47、ple, a cylindrical tube for protection against falling parts in the event of lamp breakage. Openings in a luminaire for use with low-pressure tungsten halogen lamps shall be such that parts of a broken lamp cannot leave the luminaire by a direct path when the luminaire is in any recommended position

48、 of use. Compliance is checked by operating the luminaire, at rated voltage of the lamp, in a position of normal use for5min and causing successive breakage of two lamps as follows: Each of the two lamps is prepared for the test by making an incision in the bulb wall. After5min operation, each of th

49、e lamps is destroyed by hitting at the location of the incision, through a hole provided for this purpose in the luminaire. Hot parts of broken lamps shall not ignite a piece of cotton gauze, consisting of five layers, spread out horizontally500mm below the test sample. Care should be taken that an undamaged lamp cover is used in all tests. NOTEFor the purpose of this test the luminaire beam is directed downwards at such an angle that the minimum distance from lighted objects, as marked on the luminaire, is complied with. 9.6.3 For luminaires f
