8、under the direction of the Elements and Components (of Diverse Materials) for Buildings Standards Committee and is a revision of the1976 edition of BS5369 which is now withdrawn. BS 5369 is the English language version of EN43 “Methods of testing doors. Behaviour under humidity variations of door le

9、aves placed in successive uniform climates” published by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN). The revision of EN 43 was produced as a result of international discussion in which the UK took an active part and it amends the test temperatures to conform with ISO554 “Standard atmospheres f

10、or conditioning and/or testing Specifications”, published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Other minor amendments have also been made. Terminology and conventions. The text of the European Standard may use some terminology and conventions that differ from those commonly u

21、ed to test the behaviour, under humidity variations, of door leaves placed in successive uniform climates. 2 Field of application This standard can be applied to all doors which are nominally flat and rigid, and which contain a sufficient quantity of hygroscopic materials that might influence their

22、behaviour during this test. 3 References EN 24:1974, Doors. Measurement of defects of general flatness of door leaves. 4 Principle of the test The test consists of placing the door leaves for a determined duration in successive uniform climates and measuring any changes in general flatness and notin

23、g damage which results. 5 Procedure 5.1 After storage in non-detrimental conditions 1)(relative humidity between40% and75%), measure the general flatness (EN 24) of the door leaf and then place it first in a climate defined by: 5.2 Remeasure the general flatness. 5.3 Next, place the door leaf in a c

24、limate defined by: 5.4 Remeasure the general flatness once more. 5.5 The average values of temperature and relative humidity shall be maintained as close as possible to the nominal values. 5.6 The duration of exposure in each of the two climates shall be7days for unfinished doors and 21 days for all

25、 other doors. If the test house considers that the test can be stopped at a shorter duration, it shall justify its decision. 6 Expression of results The following information and results shall be recorded in the test report: type, dimensions, shape and constructional details of the door leaf which s

26、hall include any machining to receive hardware and any finish applied, method of mounting the door leaf during the test, duration of the preliminary storage in non-detrimental conditions and the characteristics of the conditions when they differ from clause5, justification for the duration of exposu

27、re in the two climates, successive measurements of general flatness, changes that have occurred in the measured values between5.2 and5.4, damage which has occurred during the test, date of the test. 1) Specific standards on the materials of doors can, if necessary, specify the relative humidity and

28、temperature values to be applied for storing in non-detrimental conditions.
