7、sion of this Subsection of BS5550 has been prepared under the direction of the Cinematography and Photography Standards Committee and is identical with ISO1188:1984 “Cinematography Recorded characteristic for magnetic sound on full-coat16mm motion-picture film Specifications”, published by theIntern

8、ational Organization for Standardization (ISO). It supersedes BS5550-2.4.3:1978, which is identical with ISO1188:1974 “Cinematography Recording characteristics for magnetic sound records on16mm motion-picture film Specifications”, both these standards being withdrawn. In1979 asubstantial majority of

9、 countries including the UK considered that ISO1188should be revised. In this revision the characteristic is unchanged, but the tolerance on recorded levels is reduced, particularly with respect to high frequencies. In addition,16mm magnetic stripe is now excluded from the scope. Terminology and con

10、ventions. The text of the International Standard has been approved as suitable for publication as a British Standard without deviation. Some terminology and certain conventions are not identical with those used in British Standards; attention is drawn especially to the following. The comma has been

11、used as a decimal marker. In British Standards it is current practice to use a full point on the baseline as the decimal marker. Wherever the words “International Standard” appear, referring to this standard, they should be read as “Subsection of BS5550”. A British Standard does not purport to inclu

12、de all the necessary provisions of a contract. Users of British Standards are responsible for their correct application. 14、 the recorded characteristic for magnetic sound records on16mm full-coat perforated magnetic film when used at the nominal speed of24frames 18,3cm (7.2in) per second, or25frames 19,05cm (7.5in) per second. 2 Recorded characteristic With constant sine-wave signal applied to the input of the recording

15、 system, the nominal characteristic in effective values of the short-circuit magnetic flux versus frequency should fall with increasing frequency in conformity with the impedance of a parallel combination of a capacitance and a resistance having a time constant t=704s. The characteristic defined abo

16、ve is represented by N = 10lg (1+4; 2 f 2 t 2 ) where N is the recorded characteristic in decibels; f is the frequency in hertz; t is the time constant in seconds.
