11、e, is identical with IEC Publication554-3-4 “Specification for cellulosic papers for electrical purposes. Part 3: Specifications for individual materials. Sheet 4: Electrolytic capacitor paper”, published in1979, by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). Other Parts of BS5626 are given

12、 under “Cross-references” in this national foreword. It is the intention that BS5626 will ultimately replace BS698:1956 “Papers for electrical purposes” and BS4295:1968 “Capacitor tissue paper”. A decision on withdrawal of those standards will be taken at an appropriate stage during the publication

13、of the separate specification Sections for the individual materials as Part3 of BS5626. Terminology and conventions. The text of the International Standard has been approved as suitable for publication, without deviation, as a British Standard. Some terminology and certain conventions are not identi

14、cal with those used in British Standards; attention is especially drawn to the following. In the introduction, the words “This standard is one of a series which deals with” should be read as “BS5626 deals with”; similarly, “The series consists of three parts” should be read as “BS5626 has the follow

15、ing three Parts”. In clause1, “Scope”, the words “This sheet” should be read as “This Section of BS5626”. The related British Standard for ISO/R 438:1965 is BS3983:1966. A revision of ISO/R438 is currently in course of preparation. A British Standard does not purport to include all the necessary pro

16、visions of a contract. Users of British Standards are responsible for their correct application. Compliance with a British Standard does not of itself confer immunity from legal obligations.
