10、rt1,General” published in1977by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). This is Part 1 of a multipart standard and it will be published simultaneously with Part 3 and Part 6. Other Parts under consideration are listed in clause1. Terminology and conventions. The text of the Internationa

11、l Standard has been approved as suitable for publication, without deviation, as a British Standard. Some terminology and certain conventions are not identical with those used in British Standards. The technical committee has reviewed the provisions of IEC 65:1979, IEC 98:1964 and IEC 268-14A:1973 an

The compl

20、ete standard consists of the following parts in which the requirements for the individual units of a system are given: Part 1: General; Part 2: Radio tuner units; Part 3: Record playing equipment and cartridges; Part 4: Magnetic recording and play-back equipment; Part 5: Microphones; Part 6: Amplifi

21、ers; Part 7: Loudspeakers; Part 8: Combination equipment 1) ; Part 9: Magnetic tapes for audio recording; Part 10: Headphones. The object of this standard is to prescribe the required minimum values of the characteristics of audio equipment and systems for high quality reproduction which are designe

22、d for household use. 2 General conditions of measurement 2.1 Methods of measurement Measurements shall be made in accordance withmethods of measurement stated in the relevant IECpublications referred to in eachpartofthe standard. These include IECPublications 65,94, 94A,98,98A,268,315 and386; the ti

23、tles of these publications are to be found in the Preface. 2.2 Supply voltage and frequency The measurements shall be made at a supply voltage within 1% of the rated value and at a supply frequency within1% of the rated value, unless otherwise stated in the relevant part of this standard. 2.3 Atmosp

24、heric conditions This equipment, which is used in living-rooms, shall comply with the specification over the following range of atmospheric conditions as given in IECPublication68-1, Basic Environmental Testing Procedures, Part 1: General (see Sub-clause5.3, Standard atmospheric conditions for testi

25、ng), unless otherwise stated in the relevant part of this standard. 3 Interconnection The individual units in a system shall fulfil the requirements for interconnections as given inIECPublication268-14A (mechanical), IECPublication268-15(electrical) (in preparation) and in the relevant part of IEC P

26、ublication130, unless otherwise stated in the relevant part of this standard. 4 Safety requirements The equipment shall comply with the safety requirements of IEC Publication65, Safety Requirements for Mains Operated Electronic and Related Apparatus for Household and Similar General Use. 5 Published

27、 data 5.1 If a unit has more than one mode of operation (e.g.different speeds on a tape recorder) and the unit does not comply with the requirements of this standard for all of these modes, this must be clearly stated in the user instruction book and in any published technical specification. In a co

28、mbination equipment, each function shall comply with the relevant requirements of this standard, but not necessarily for each mode of operation. 1) A combination equipment is a set of two or more individual units intended by the manufacturer to be used together and marketed by him as such. For examp

29、le, a set might consist of a tuner-amplifier, a pair of loudspeakers and a record playing equipment. 31、shall be fully defined, IEC methods of measurement being used where they exist.
