Terminology and conventions. The text of the International Standard has

Some terminology and certain conventions are not identical with those used in British Standards; attention is especially drawn to the following. 13、d of non-volatile matter at250 C. 3 Principle Dissolution of a test portion and filtration of the solution through a tared filter. Washing of the insoluble matter at approximately50 C until the washings are no longer alkaline. Drying of the residue and weighing. 4 Reagents During the analysis, use o

14、nly reagents of recognized analytical reagent grade and only distilled water or water of equivalent purity. 4.1 Phenolphthalein, 10g/l ethanolic solution. Dissolve1g of phenolphthalein in95% (V/V) ethanol and dilute to100ml with the same ethanol. 5 Apparatus Ordinary laboratory apparatus and 5.1 Gla

15、ss filter crucible, with sintered disk of porosity grade P16 (pore size between10and164m). 5.2 Electric oven, capable of being controlled at110 5 C. 6 Procedure 6.1 Test portion Weigh, to the nearest0,01g,50 0,1g of the test sample (see ISO739). 6.2 Determination Dissolve the test portion by adding

16、small quantities at a time, while stirring, to a beaker of suitable capacity (for example600ml) containing 200ml of water heated to approximately50 C. Place the crucible(5.1) in the oven(5.2) controlled at110 5 C. After drying for1h, remove it, allow to cool in a desiccator to ambient temperature an

17、d weigh to the nearest0,0001g. Filter the decanted sodium carbonate solution through the tared filter crucible maintaining a reduced pressure by means of a filter pump or a vacuum pump. Wash the insoluble matter onto the sintered disk with water at approximately50 C until20ml of the filtrate show no

18、 colour on addition of2drops of the phenolphthalein(4.1). Place the filter crucible containing the insoluble matter in the oven controlled at110 5 C and leave to dry for1h. After cooling, in a desiccator to ambient temperature, weigh to the nearest0,0001 g. 7 Expression of results The matter insolub

19、le in water at50 C, expressed as a percentage by mass, is given by the formula: where NOTEIf it is desired to express the result on the basis of non-volatile matter at250 C (see ISO745), multiply the result obtained on the product as received by the ratio 8 Test report The test report shall include

20、the following particulars: a) the reference of the method used; b) the results and the method of expression used; c) any unusual features noted during the determination; d) any operation not included in this International Standard or in the International Standards to which reference is made, or rega
