12、n slotted nuts and castle nuts shall be as given inTable 1 andFigure 1 andFigure 2. 4 Characteristics The characteristics of hexagon slotted nuts and castle nuts shall be as given inTable 2. 5 Designation When designating nuts for the purpose of an enquiry or order, the following information shall b

13、e given: a) the material; b) whether the product is to be washer faced; c) general product description, i.e. hexagon slotted nut; d) the letter “M” indicating that the product is ISO metric; e) the nominal size (thread diameter) of the product in millimetres; f) the property class of the product; g)

14、 the number of this British Standard, i.e. BS7764:1994; h) details of the coating (if required) and the relevant British Standard where applicable. Example The designation of a steel M12 washer faced hexagon slotted nut of property class8 is as follows: Steel washer faced hexagon slotted nut M12 pro
