9、nts in small, medium, large or travel first aid kits for use in a workplaceenvironment. Requirements are also given for the container holding thecomponents.NOTE 1 Workplace first aid kits can be complemented by other items that havebeen identified during a hazard assessment if necessary. Where there

10、 are unusualhazards that are specific to a particular undertaking or workplace environment, suchas the use of hydrofluoric acid, workplace first aid kits should be supplemented withadditional, appropriate components.NOTE 2 Annex A gives recommendations on the amount and size of the first aidkits nec

16、9-1:2011 BSI 2011 14 Contents of a workplace first aid kitThe contents of a (small, medium, large or travel) workplace first aid kit shall bein accordance with Table 1.5 ContainerThe container shall be able to fit all of the relevant components inside and closesecurely. The container shall be clean,

17、 dustproof and provide protection for thecontents in a workplace environment.NOTE When selecting an appropriate container, temperature, maintenance,material durability and robustness should be considered.6 MarkingThe container shall be legibly and durably marked with the following:a) number and date

18、 of this standard (i.e. BS 8599-1:2011)1);b) symbol of a white cross conforming to ISO 7010:2011, type E003;c) the words FIRST AID in white text.NOTE Depending on the market the container should also have the words 9FIRSTAID9 marked in the local language, e.g., in Welsh or Gaelic.1)Marking BS 8599-1
