7、ds Committee. It is identical with ISO7309:1985 “Road vehiclesHydraulic braking systemsISO reference petroleum base fluid”, published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). This is Part1 of BS AU216 which covers components for vehicle braking systems using petroleum base fluids

8、. It is intended to issue other Parts specifying petroleum base brake fluid, boots, cups and seals for use in the braking system. The associated BritishStandard BS AU174 “Hydraulic brake systems, using non-petroleum base brake fluids, for road vehicles” specifies similar components for vehicle braki

9、ng systems using non-petroleum base fluids. Terminology and conventions. The text of the International Standard has been approved as suitable for publication as a BritishStandard without deviation. Some terminology and certain conventions are not identical with those used in BritishStandards; attent

10、ion is drawn especially to the following. The comma has been used as a decimal marker. In BritishStandards it is current practice to use a full point on the baseline as the decimal marker. Wherever the words “International Standard” appear, referring to this standard, they should be read as “Part of

11、 this BritishStandard”. The Technical Committee has reviewed the provisions of ISO3104, ISO3405 and ISO6618, to which reference is made in the text and has decided that they are acceptable for use in conjunction with this standard. ISO3104:1976 and ISO3405:1975 are related to BS2000 “Methods of test

12、 for petroleum and its products” Part71:1982 “Kinematic viscosity of transparent and opaque liquids and calculation of dynamic viscosity” and Part123:1985 “Distillation of petroleum products”, respectively.
