Thecomponentpartsofapossibledesignofatestapparatusareshowninfigure1.Thedesignofthestandisnot normative.Detailsofthetestsamplesupport,fallingblockandtestbladearegivenins

31、ubsequentclauses.Design detailssuchasthemeansofallowingremovaloftheblockandtestbladeafterimpact,andnecessarysafetyguards arenotshown. 5.1.2Bladeholdingblock Thebladeholdingblockisshowninfigure2.Thetestbladeshallbeheldintheblocksothatitprotrudesby (555)mm.Thepositionofthebladetipshallbeoffsetbythedis

34、ddimensionsasshowninfigure3.Itshallbemadeofcoldforgedstainless steelwithadegreeofhardnessgreaterthan45HRC.Itsedgeshallbestraightandsharp.Beforeeverypenetration testthebladeshallconformtothespecification. NOTE:Aftermachinegrinding,thebladeedgeshouldbemadesmoothandsharpbyhandfinishingonan oilstone.Bla

Thecircularmetalanvilshallbe(501)mmindiameterandhaveaverticalheightofapproximately60mm.The topsurfaceshallbemachinedtobedomedwitharadiusofcurvatureof(2005)mm.Theanvilshallhaveaslot cutinitatitscentr

40、erialsshould besewn,stapled,welded,orinsomeotherway,joinedtoformatube.Thetubeshouldbeatleast100mmin length,butnotsolongthatitslengthimpedespositioningofthesampleasrequiredin5.2.2.Thetubeshallhavea circulardiameterof(10020)mm.Knittedmaterialsshouldbepreparedsothattheareatobetestedisrepresenta tiveoft

41、hematerialasusedinproducts.Thesamplemayneedtobestabilisedbyalineofstretchableoverlock stitchesarounditsedgetopreventtheknittedstructurebreakingdown. Samplesthatconsistofglovesorarmguardsmaybesuitabletotestcomplete.Verystiffproductsshallbecutand havetheircutedgesstabilised,sothattheycanbepositionedas
