、4 EN 1719:1998 BSI 02-1999 5.4 Test procedure The test shall be performed at standard climate as described in 5.3. Remove the release paper from each strip immediately prior to the test being carried out. Hold the two ends of the adhesive coated strip and form the strip into a loop, adhesive surface

、 outermost, by bringing the two ends together. Clamp the ends of the loop for a distance of (10 1) mm into the top jaw of the tensile tester leaving the loop with a length of (155 4) mm hanging freely. The sides of the jaw should be protected from the adhesive coating. Clamp the plate in the jig as

、described in 5.1.3 in the lower jaw (see Figure 1). Start the machine and bring the loop into contact with the plate at a speed of 5 mm/s. When a contact area of 25 mm3 25 mm approx. has been achieved, immediately reverse the direction of the machine and separate at a speed of 5 mm/s (see Figure 2).

、 Record the maximum force (N) necessary to completely separate the loop from the plate. 6 Expression of results The loop tack value is expressed as the average in newtons (N) of five strips tested. 7 Test report The test report shall include the following: a) reference to this European Standard; b)

、adhesive manufacturers name, grade and batch number of the other means of uniquely identifying the adhesive sample; c) method of preparation of the adhesive coating; d) coating weight if other than (25 2) g/m 2 ; e) specification of polyester film and release paper used; f) description of the surfac
