23、ies methods for measuring the thickness, width and length of wood-based panels. It applies to whole flat boards. The methods for the determination of squareness and edge straightness are specified in EN324-2. 2 Normative references This European Standard incorporates by dated or undated reference, p

EN 326-1, Wood-based panels Sampling cutting and inspection Part 1: Sampling and cutting of test pieces and expression of test
26、results 1) . 3 Principle Thickness, length and width of full size boards are determined by linear measurement. 4 Sampling Sampling of panels shall be in accordance with EN326-1. 5 Moisture content at time of measurement Normally the dimensions of boards are measured in the as-received state. If nece
27、ssary the moisture content of the boards shall be determined in accordance with EN322. 6 Conditioning If necessary, the boards shall be conditioned to constant mass in an atmosphere with a relative humidity of (65 5)% and a temperature of(20 2) C. Constant mass is considered to be reached when the r
28、esults of two successive weighing operations, carried out at an interval of24h, do not differ by more than0,1% of the mass of the board. 7 Apparatus 7.1 Instrument for thickness measurement Micrometer, or similar measuring instrument, having flat and parallel circular measuring surfaces of (16 1)mm
29、diameter and an operating force of4N1N. The graduation of the apparatus shall allow a reading to0,05mm. 7.2 Measuring instrument for length and width measurement Steel measuring tape, accurate to1mm. 8 Procedure 8.1 Determination of thickness of boards Measure the thickness approximately 50mm from t
30、he edges, at points located in each corner and in the middle of each side, i.e.at eight points in all (seeFigure 1), to an accuracy of1% of the thickness but to not less than0,1mm. For measuring the thickness, apply the measuring surfaces of the instrument slowly to the panel surface. 8.2 Determinat
31、ion of length and width of boards Measure both the length and width of each board along two lines parallel to and at a distance of100mm from the edges (seeFigure 1), to an accuracy of0,1% but not less than1mm. 9 Expression of results 9.1 Thickness For each board tested, the arithmetic mean of the me
32、asurements shall be calculated and expressed to the nearest0,1mm. 9.2 Length and width For each board tested, the arithmetic mean of the measurements shall be calculated and expressed for the length and the width to the nearest1mm. 10 Test report As described in EN326-1. 1) At present at the draft s
