18、achendofthetestspecimens(coaxialcables)orthetestspecimensshallbe stripped(balancedcables)andconnectedtothemeasuringdevice. 4 Methods 4.1 Insertionmethod Measurementofattenuationiscarriedoutbytransmissioninharmonicmodeatthefrequenciesindicatedin theproductstandard,insertingacablesampleinasuitablecirc
19、uitandbycompensatingtheattenuation causedbythiscablebymeansofacalibratedattenuator. Thesampleshallbeofalength Lsuchthatitproduces,unlessotherwisestipulatedintheproductstandard, anattenuationequivalenttoatleast3dB. Figure1showsabasicarrangement. ThegeneratorisadjustedtothemeasuringfrequencyFanditsout
