EN 12927-5:2004 (E) 5 1 Scope This part of EN 12927 specifies the safety requirements for the storage, transportation, installation and tensioning of ropes for installations for the transportation of passenger by rope. It also includes the requirements
28、 for adjusting, measuring and recording the condition of the rope during and on completion of the installation. It provides the safety requirements and measures to reduce the effect of hazards to the rope and possible hazards from the rope to persons and equipment during these operations. It does no

43、arios In addition the following events may lead to hazardous situations, which may be avoided or limited by the requirements of this document: a) inefficient rope protection during storage may lead to corrosion which may lead to rope failure within an inspection period; b) the package on reels may l
44、ead to hazardous situations if by a failure of the support the reel can start rolling; c) the failure of the rope connection with an auxiliary rope or with the brake controlled reel as well as the turn out from the installation support may lead to the release of the elastic potential energy of the p
45、ulled rope during the installation process. 5 Safety requirements and measures 5.1 Packaging, storage, handling and transportation 5.1.1 General Any special requirements for packaging, marking, lifting devices, storage conditions and transportation shall be agreed by all involved parties. NOTE Due n
46、otice should be taken of any recognised lifting standards where they exist. 5.1.2 Storage Adequate protection and support shall be provided to the rope taking into account storage location and duration. Rope and package shall be subject to periodic inspection during storage. NOTE Under prolonged per
47、iods of storage it may be necessary, depending on storage conditions or state of rope, to provide additional protection, e.g. in the form of a suitable rope dressing, or improvements to storage conditions. 5.1.3 Handling The package shall be lifted or handled by means of suitably fitted and designed
48、 accessories and equipment. 5.1.4 Transportation The package shall be firmly secured during transportation such that no damage shall occur to the rope and its package. EN 12927-5:2004 (E) 8 5.2 Installation, tensioning, connecting and/or splicing 5.2.1 General The installer shall provide the purchaser with details of the procedure he intends to adopt. NOTE The intended procedure should be submitted by the purchaser to the rope manufacturer and the cableway designer
