20、erties given in part 1 and 3 respectively. 1.2 This part 2 of EN 12971 defines the general requirements applicable to the specification of all types of chopped strand falling within the scope of this specification as defined in part 1 of the standard. 2 Normative references This European Standard in

24、ity. 3 Definitions For the purposes of this part 2 of EN 12971 the definitions given in ISO 472 apply with the following additions: 3.1 lot average an average property of a lot (in manufacture or delivered to the customer), when sampled in accordance with EN ISO 1886 3.2 bulk density the mass of a d

25、efined volume of chopped strands put into a container, without compression or the effects of settlement 3.3 moisture loss in storage for wet chopped strands, the difference between the original moisture content and that measured after a period in storage 4 List of properties The list of properties w

26、ith the applicable test method shall be considered as a guide for the selection of the properties and limits which shall be applicable to the technical specifications given in part 3 of this standard. 5 Sampling Sampling of textile glass chopped strands for the purpose of confirming conformance with

27、 the requirements of this specification shall be undertaken in accordance with EN ISO 1886. 6 General requirements 6.1 Appearance The textile glass chopped strands shall be substantially free from contamination (e.g. oil, metals, paper, etc.), and shall not contain unacceptable levels of agglomerate

28、d filament (fuzz ball). If required the purchase specification shall define acceptance levels. 6.2 Packaging The packaging shall protect the product during handling, storage and transportation and ensure that the material has a minimum shelf life of 12 months. For wet chopped strands, the packaging

29、shall include a moisture-proof package so as to keep control of moisture loss to ensure a minimum shelf life of 6 months. 6.3 Labelling Each package shall be clearly identified with: 6.3.1 Designation code. 6.3.2 Manufacturers production and traceability reference. 6.3.3 Weight of package (net). 6.3
