31、imesthenominaldiameter oftheroundtimber.Theloadingheadsshallbeplacedatthethirdpointsofthespan.Thetestpieceshallbesimply supportedandthedirectionofthesweep,ifany,shouldbeinthedirectionoftheload. Ifthetestpieceortheequipmentdoesnotpermittheseconditionstobeachievedexactly,thedistancebetween theloadingp

32、ointsandsupportsmanybechangedbyanamountnotgreaterthan1,5timesthenominaldiameter measuredbetweenthespan.Thespanmaybechangedbyanamountnotgreaterthanthreetimesthenominal diameter,whilemaintainingthesymmetryofthetestsetup. Ashapedwoodenorwoodbasedblocktofittheroundtimber,oflengthnotgreaterthanthenominal

33、diameterof theroundtimbermaybeinsertedbetweenthetestpieceandtheloadingheadsorsupportstominimiselocal indentation.
