Thatisveryevidentintelemedicineorwhendataareelectronicallydispatchedforexampleinanemailorasadata filetobeaddedtoaninternationaldatabase.Italsooccurs,butlessobviously,whenadatabaseinonecountryis viewedfromtheotherforexampleovertheI

36、nternet.Thatapplicationmayappearpassivebuttheveryactof viewinginvolvesdisclosureofthatdataandisdeemedprocessing.Moreoveritrequiresadownloadthatmaybe automaticallyplacedinacacheandheldthereuntilemptiedthisalsoisprocessing. Inallapplicationsinvolvingpersonalhealthdatatherecanbeapotentialthreattothepri

37、vacyofanindividual.That threatanditsextentwilldependon: theleveltowhichdataisprotectedfromunauthorisedaccessinstorageortransmission; thenumberofpersonswhohaveauthorisedaccess; thenatureofthepersonaldatastored; thelevelofdifficultyinidentifyinganindividualifaccesstothedataisobtained.
