27、s which deals with pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes, intended primarily for electrical purposes. The series consists of three parts: Part 1: General requirements (IEC 60454-1); Part 2: Methods of test (IEC 60454-2); Part 3: Specifications for individual materials (IEC 60454-3). This standard contai
28、ns one of the sheets comprising part 3 as follows: Sheet 1: PVC film tapes with pressure-sensitive adhesive. 1 General 1.1 Scope This sheet of IEC 60454-3 contains the requirements for PVC film tapes with pressure-sensitive adhesive. Materials which conform to this specification meet established lev
29、els of performance. However, the selection of a material by a user for a specific application should be based on the actual requirements necessary for adequate performance in that application, and not based on this specification alone. 1.2 Normative references The following normative documents conta

33、 designation 2.1 The products supplied according to this specification shall be classified as follows. 1) In case of dispute, the reference edition is applicable. Type 1: Products having a thermal index of 60 and a minimum temperature rating of 0 C. Type 2: Products having a thermal index of 60 and
34、a minimum temperature rating of 10 C. Type 3: Products having a thermal index of 60 and a minimum temperature rating of 18 C. Type 4: Products having a thermal index of 60 and a minimum temperature rating of 33 C. Type 5: Products having a thermal index of 90 and a minimum temperature rating of 0 C.
35、 Type 6: Products having a thermal index of 90 and a minimum temperature rating of 10 C. Type 7: Products having a thermal index of 90 and a minimum temperature rating of 18 C. 37、rature rating of 33 C.EN 60454-3-1:1998 4 BSI 17 June 2002 2.2 The products shall be designated for ordering purposes as follows: NOTE The nature of the adhesive is not classified, since several classes of adhesive may satisfy the performance requirements of this specification. Adhesive types may be
38、 specified based on agreement between purchaser and supplier. 3 Requirements 3.1 All applicable requirements of IEC 60454-1 shall apply to material furnished under this specification. 3.2 The physical and electrical properties of products supplied according to this specification shall be within the
39、limits listed in Table 1 and Table 2 when tested in accordance with the test methods listed therein. 3.3 Thermal endurance When required by the purchaser, the manufacturer shall provide evidence that when tested in accordance with clause 21 of IEC 60454-2, the product shall have a temperature index
40、of not less than 60 for types 1, 2, 3 and 4; not less than 90 for types 5, 6, 7 and 8; and not less than 105 for types 9, 10, 11 and 12. The exposure temperatures are: 85 C, 100 C and 120 C for types 1 to 4; 100 C, 110 C and 120 C for types 5 to 8; 120 C, 130 C and 140 C for types 9 to 12. The singl
41、e end-point criterion for types 1 to 4 shall be: for breakdown voltage: 2,5 kV (metal foil electrode). The two end-point criteria for types 5 to 12 shall be: for breakdown voltage: 2,5 kV (metal foil electrode); and for loss of mass: 20 %. 3.4 When required by the purchaser, the manufacturer shall p
42、rovide evidence of the low temperature performance when tested in accordance with the conditions specified in Table 2; the tape shall have a minimum temperature rating as follows: Type 1: IEC 60454-3-1-1/F-PVCP/60. Type 2: IEC 60454-3-1-2/F-PVCP/60. Type 3: IEC 60454-3-1-3/F-PVCP/60. Type 4: IEC 604
