23、 connector to withstand driving fine sand and dust. 1.2 Normative reference The following normative document contains provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this section of IEC512-11. At the time of publication, the edition indicated was valid. All normative docum

IEC 512-7:1993, Electromechanical components for electronic equipment; basic testing procedures and measuring methods Part 7: Mechanical operating tests and sealing tests. 2 Preparation of specimens The specimens shall be equipped with their normal accessories mounted and wired according to the de
26、tail specification. When the detail specification requires it, the specimens shall be mated and unmated as many times as specified, prior to the test. The test shall be performed on mated connectors or on unmated connectors with protective covers. 3 Test method 3.1 Initial measurements Initial measu
27、rements shall be made as specified by the detail specification. The specimen shall be subjected to test13a: Engaging and separating forces, of IEC512-7. (See also IEC68-2-68: Test L: Dust and sand.) 3.2 Conditioning 3.2.1 Test equipment The test chamber length, section and configuration shall be so
28、designed as to: avoid turbulent flows ahead of the test specimens and limit such flows as much as possible behind them; provide uniform distribution of solid particles within the airstream. The climatic test chamber shall be provided with control devices for maintaining the following within specifie
29、d limits throughout the test: jet density (opacity-measuring photoelectric cell systems are recommended); airflow speed; relative humidity and temperature around the specimen. The sand and dust used for the test shall be abrasives with the following characteristics. The particles shall contain betwe
30、en97% and99% SiO 2 . Smaller than 1504m 100% to 99% by weight Smaller than 1054m 86% to 76% by weight Smaller than 754m 70% to 60% by weight Smaller than 404m 46% to 35% by weight Smaller than 204m 30% to 20% by weight Smaller than 104m 19% to 11% by weight Smaller than 54m 11% to 5% by weight Small
31、er than 24m 5% to 1,5% by weightEN60512-11-8:1999 4 BSI 02-2000 3.2.2 Positions of the specimens in the test chamber The number of positions and the orientation of specimens with respect to the airflow shall be as specified by the detail specification. 3.2.3 Test procedure The detail specification s
32、hall define the number of cycles to be performed. Each cycle lasts2h and consists of four steps. a) Within30min, the test chamber shall be stabilised within the following limits: temperature: (30 3) C; relative humidity25%; air speed: the detail specification shall define a speed from3m/s to10m/s. T
33、he recommended speed is(3,0 0,3)m/s; concentration of the particles:(5 1,5)g/m 3 . b) The above conditions are maintained for30min. c) Within30min, the temperature shall be brought to(65 5) C, the other parameters remaining unchanged. d) The new conditions shall be maintained for1h. Unless otherwise
34、 specified, one cycle shall be performed for each position. Between two successive cycles, the temperature shall be reduced to(30 3) C within2h maximum. 3.2.4 Recovery After the test and to prevent the effects of moisture, dust shall be removed from the mated specimens by shaking, wiping or brushing
35、 but no blower or suction devices shall be used to remove dust that has ingressed into specimens. The specimens shall be allowed to recover as long as required for them to reach room temperature. 3.3 Final measurements and requirements (if applicable) Final measurements shall be made as specified by
36、 the detail specification.
