The series consists of three parts: Part

21、1: Definitions and general requirements (IEC 60684-1); Part 2: Methods of test (IEC 60684-2); Part 3: Specifications for individual types of sleeving (IEC 60684-3). This standard contains three of the sheets comprising Part 3, as follows: Sheet 340: Expandable braided polyethylene terephthalate text

24、s for sleeving having the property of expanding its internal diameter when compressed longitudinally and thereafter returning to its initial diameter after release of the compressing force. It is constructed of polyethylene terephthalate monofilament yarns suitably processed to provide the mechanica

25、l ability to conform in the manner described above. These sleevings have been found suitable for use at temperatures up to 130 C. This sleeving is normally supplied in internal diameters between 6 mm and 63 mm and in three levels of wall thickness (thin, medium, and thick). It is normally supplied i

26、n the following colours: black, white, brown, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, grey, and natural. Because of its open construction, this sleeving is normally used to provide air-space insulation. Therefore, no requirement for breakdown voltage is specified in this standard. (Any value for this prop

27、erty should be given in the purchase contract, but a typical value is 1,5 kV/mm wall thickness, although a linear relationship cannot be assumed.) However, it serves to provide mechanical protection to circuit components such as wires, sleeves, and flat cable over which it is applied as a containing

28、 wrap or harness. Materials which conform to this specification meet established levels of performance. However, the selection of a material by a user for a specific application should be based on the actual requirements necessary for adequate performance in that application and not based on this sp

Internal diameter in mm Colour Require- ments from Table 5 are applicable The addition of “X” at the end of the designation indicates that either or both of the properties contained in Table 5 have been agreed and are included in the purchase contract. Any abbreviation us

33、ed for colour shall comply with IEC 60757. NC is used for “Natural Colour / No Colour pigmentation”. Where no abbreviation is given, the colour shall be written in full. 4 Requirements 4.1 Standard requirements In addition to the general requirements given in IEC 60684-1, the sleeving in the sizes n

34、ormally available shall comply with the requirements in Tables 1 and 2. 4.2 Special requirements If sleeving is to be supplied with any of the properties specified in Table 5, it shall also comply with the appropriate requirements of Table 5. 5 Product conformance Conformance with the requirements o
