23、997 BSI 02-1999 3 1 General 1.1 Scope This part of IEC1269 applies to fibre optic terminus sets for all types, sizes and structures of fibres and cables. It includes: terminus set requirements; quality assessment procedures. 1.2 Normative references The following normative documents contain provisio

30、an optical fibre within a connector and which is both removable from and replaceable in the connector. A specific terminus may be used in a wide variety of connector styles (e.g. circular, rectangular, rack and panel, hybrid, etc.) which may be qualified under other specification systems (e.g. speci

31、fications for electrical connectors) 1.3.2 terminus set the two mateable termini. Generally, a set consists of a terminus pin and a terminus socket 1.3.3 mechanically intermateable termini termini which are capable of being mechanically mated. Performance or intermountability are not requirements fo

Interchangeability applies to a terminus set only since individual termini are not necessarily intermateable 1.3.5 intermountable termin

Intermateability or interchangeability are not requirements for intermountability 1.3.6 termini control dimensions those termini dimensions which control intermateability and intermountability 1.4 Abbreviations 2 Requirements 2.1 Qualification Comp

34、onents covered by this specification shall be authorized by the NSI for listing on the QPL under the qualification procedure in accordance with11.3.1 of QC001002. 2.2 Classification Termini are classified, either totally or in part, by the following categories: type; arrangement; style; variant; cli

35、matic category; environmental category; assessment level. SeeTable 1 for an example of a complete terminus-set classification. 2.2.1 Type Terminus sets shall be classified by type. Type is defined by three elements the type name, the configuration, and the control dimensions. Examples of terminus-se

36、t names: FOTS, gauge 8; subminiature D, gauge 16. Examples of terminus-set configurations: pin/socket; pin/pin. 37、hall be classified by arrangement. Arrangement category defines the delivered terminus-set form. Examples of arrangements: kit; pigtail. 2.2.3 Style Terminus sets shall be classified by style. Style is defined by the fibre retention technology, the cable retention technology (where applicable), the

38、optical coupling technology, and the alignment technology. Examples of fibre retention technologies: adhesive; crimp. Examples of cable retention technologies (whereapplicable): adhesive; crimp. Examples of optical coupling technologies: non-butting; butting; expanded beam. Examples of alignment tec

39、hnologies: clearance fit; resilient bushing; resilient tip; spherical. 2.2.4 Variant Termini shall be classified by variant. The following are preferred values: 2.2.6 Environmental Category Terminus sets may be classified by environmen

42、tal category. Environmental category corresponds to the test schedules used for quality assessment. Environmental category standards are given inAnnex A. 2.2.7 Assessment level Adaptors shall be classified by assessment level. Assessment level is designated by a capital letter. The following assessm

43、ent level standards may be used: Assessment level A Assessment level B Assessment level C When an assessment level other than one of the above standards is used, it shall be designated with the capital letter X. 2.3 Documentation 2.3.1 Symbols Graphical and letter symbols, as given in IEC27 and IEC6

44、17 shall, as applicable, be used in detail specifications. 2.3.2 Specification system This specification is part of the three-level IEC specification system and includes blank detail specifications. 47、ods 24 month periodsEN61269-1:1997 BSI 02-1999 7 2.3.3 Drawings 2.3.3.1 Projection system Detail specifications shall use either first angle or third angle projection. All drawings within one detail specification shall use the same projection system and the drawings shall state which system is used.

48、 2.3.3.2 Dimensional system All dimensions shall comply with ISO129, ISO286-1 and ISO1101. The metric system shall be used in detail specifications. Inch dimensions may be added for information. Conversion between systems of units shall comply with ISO370. 2.3.3.3 Control dimensions The detail speci

49、fication shall define the termini control dimensions and the counterpart component dimensions (see3.3.4). The counterpart component dimensions shall define as a minimum: a) a fully toleranced cavity; b) the dimensions of those features, as required, which control termini alignment, including: angular misalignment; radial offset; axial separation. 2.3.4 Measurements 2.3.4.1 Measurement methods The detail spe
