This European Standard shall be give

12、n the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by January 2015, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by January 2015. Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may

41、sts of ISO 3166-1:1997 agreed to by the ISO 3166/MA1), published in the ISO 3166-1 Newsletter up to V-12. The present, third edition of Part 1, ISO 3166-1:2013, is a minor revision of ISO 3166-1:2006, as amended by its Technical Corrigendum 1:2007, and comprises a consolidation of all changes agreed

42、 by the ISO 3166/MA, and published in the ISO 3166-1 Newsletter VI-1 to VI-16. This minor revision incorporates the following changes: the alpha-2 and alpha-3 sets of code elements that form an integral part of ISO 3166-1 have been clearly defined in 5.2 and 5.3 to distinguish them from the sets of

43、code elements available for use by users; in 7.1, the generic function (update, publish) has replaced mention of the tool (newsletter) for updates to code elements; in 8.2, it is clearly stated that the set of code elements in 8.1.3 is not administered, nor maintained by the ISO 3166/MA.
