It is identical with ISO10545-7:1996. It supersedes BS6431-20:1984 which will be withdrawn when Parts1to 16 of BS EN ISO10

4、545 have all been published. The UK participation in its preparation was entrusted to Technical Committee B/539, Ceramic tiles and other rigid tiling, which has the responsibility to: aid enquirers to understand the text; present to the responsible international/European committee any enquiries on t

5、he interpretation, or proposals for change, and keep the UK interests informed; monitor related international and European developments and promulgate them in the UK. A list of organizations represented on this committee can be obtained on request to its secretary. This part is referred to in the sp

6、ecification for ceramic tiles, ISO13006, that includes requirements for all the tiles standardized in BS6431-1 to BS6431-9 inclusive. The technical changes from the method described in BS6431-20 are as follows. The use of the dry abrasive load has been deleted. The number of revolutions to establish

7、 the classes of abrasion resistance has been changed to start at100 for class1 and end at12000 for a new class5. To achieve class5, tiles also have to pass the test in BS EN ISO10545-14 for stain resistance. Cross-references The BritishStandards which implement international or European publications

This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by June1999, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by June1999. 39、kENISO10545-7:1998 BSI 02-2000 1 1 Scope This part of ISO10545 specifies a method for determining the resistance to surface abrasion of all glazed ceramic tiles used for floor covering. 2 Normative reference The following standards contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute

40、 provisions of this part of ISO10545. At the time of publication, the editions indicated were valid. All standards are subject to revision, and parties to agreements based on this part of ISO10545 are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent editions of the standards ind

42、stance to stains. 3 Principle Determination of the abrasion resistance of the glaze of tiles by rotation of an abrasive load on the surface and assessment of the wear by means of visual comparison of abraded test specimens and non-abraded tiles. 4 Abrasive load The total load on each test specimen s

43、hall consist of 5 Apparatus 5.1 Abrasion apparatus (seeFigure 1), consisting of a steel case with an inbuilt electrical drive connected to a horizontal supporting plate with positions for test specimens of dimensions at least100mm 100mm. The distance between the centre of the supporting plate and th

44、e centre of each position shall be195mm. There shall be equal distances between each adjacent position. The supporting plate shall rotate at300r/min with an eccentricity, e, of22,5mm so that every part of each test specimen describes a circular motion of diameter45mm. The test specimens are held dow

45、n with the aid of metal holders which are provided with rubber seals (seeFigure 2). The internal diameter of the holders is83mm, thus providing a test area of about54cm 2 . The thickness of the rubber is9mm and the height of the space under the holder is22,5mm. The apparatus switches off automatical

46、ly after completion of a present number of revolutions. The supporting plate with holders and test specimens shall be covered during operation. A suitable apparatus of another description may be used, provided it gives the same results as those obtained with the apparatus described below. 5.2 Appara

47、tus for visual assessment (seeFigure 3), consisting of a viewing box equipped with fluorescent lighting of colour temperature6000K to6500K placed vertically above the surface to be observed providing300lx illuminance. The dimensions of the box shall be61cm 61cm 61cm and the inner faces shall be pain

48、ted a neutral gray. The light source is screened to avoid direct viewing. 5.3 Drying oven, capable of being operated at(110+5) C. 5.4 Balance (if mass loss is required). 6 Test specimens 6.1 Types of test specimens Test specimens shall be representative of the sample. Where tiles have different colo

49、urs or decorative effects in parts of the surface, care should be taken to include all the distinctive parts. The usual facial dimensions of test specimens are100mm 100mm. Test specimens with smaller facial dimensions shall be fastened close together on a suitable supporting material. Edge effects at the narrow joints shall be ignored. 1) To be published.
