Thismethodisapplicabletojointswheresimilarordifferentmaterialsareconnected,wheresealing mechanismsincludeelastomericsealingringsoradhesives. Thismethodisapplicableinadditiontothehydrostaticpressuretestsformaterialsa
24、ndcomponents. 2 Principle Thetestsimulatesexpansionofthejointareaduetocreep.Thisisrelatedtothepermissibleworking conditionsfor50yearsandbasedonthepropertiesofthecomponentsassembled. Theleaktightnessofthejoint(s)istestedasanassemblycomprisingeither: a) atleastonefittingjoinedtopipes;or b) anancillary
25、componentoravalvejoinedtopipes;or c) apipetopipejoint. Thetestiscarriedoutforatleast1000hatambienttemperatureandatthemaximumallowedworking temperatureforthepipingsystemforwhichtheassemblyorjointisintendedtobeused. Thetestpieceanditsjoint(s)aresubjectedtoaspecifiedinternalhydrostaticwaterpressureata
26、specifiedtemperaturefortheperiodoftime(1000hormore)specifiedinthereferringstandard. Additionalreinforcementofthejointareaisnotpermittedforthistest. NOTE Ifthefreelengthisnotspecifiedinthereferringstandard,itshouldbenotlessthanthe nominaloutsidediameterofthepipe,withaminimumof150mm. AllcomponentsshallconformtotheappropriatepartoftheapplicableSystemStandard.Inadditionth
