Thechoiceofqualitylevelforanyapplicationshouldtakeaccountofdesignconsiderations,subsequentprocessing, e.g.surfacing,modeofstressing(e.g.static,dynamic),serviceconditions(e.g.temperature,environment),and INESO91931:2(1002E) 4 cons
33、equencesoffailure.Economicfactorsarealsoimportantandshouldincludenotonlythecostofweldingbutalso thatofinspection,testandrepair. Althoughthisstandardincludestypesofimperfectionsrelevanttotheelectronandlaserbeamweldingprocesses,only thosewhichareapplicabletotheprocessandapplicationinquestionneedtobeco

Imperfectionsarequotedintermsoftheiractualdimensions,andtheirdetectionandevaluationmayrequiretheuseof oneormoremethodsofnondestructivetesting.Thedetectionandsizingofimperfectionsisdependentonthe inspectionmethodsandtheextentoftestingspecifiedintheapplicationstandardorcontract. Thisstandard
35、doesnotincludedetailsofrecommendedmethodsofdetectionandsizingand,therefore,itneedstobe supplementedbyrequirementsforexamination,inspectionandtesting.Itshouldbeappreciatedthatmethodsofnon destructiveexaminationmaynotbeabletogivethedetection,characterisationandsizingnecessaryforusewithin certaintypeso

Applicationforthicknessesabove50mmforelectronbeamweldingand12mmforlaserbea
