Thefollowingtestsaredetailed: a) Ratingtest Thisscreeningtestprovidesamethodofassessingtherelativeweldabilityofashopprimerofaspecifiedthickness by

28、3apply. 4 Ratingtest 4.1 Principle Thistestprovidesamethodofassessingtherelativeweldabilityofshopprimersofaspecifiedthicknessbymaking astandardweldoverarangeofshopprimersandsubsequentlyevaluatingtheseverityoftheresultingporosity. Onlyoneweldingprocedureisprescribed,usingmetalactivegaswelding(process

29、135inaccordancewith ENISO4063). Thejointconfigurationandclosefituparedesignedtogivesignificantlevelsofporosityforreasonsof differentiationandreproducibility. Thestandarddoesnotspecifylimitsforacceptabilityasthesedependonthepracticalapplication.Itisexpected thatlevelsofporosityduringpracticalapplicat

30、ionswillbelowerthanthelevelsmeasuredduringtesting. 4.2 Preparationoftestpiece 10testpiecesshallbepreparedforeachshopprimer.Eachpieceshallconsistoftwobrightdrawnmildsteelplates inaccordancewithEN10278. Thedimensionsofthetestpiecesareasfollows: 20 mm 80mm 200mm; 12 mm 50mm 200mm. Thepartsshallhavesmoo

31、th,flat,undamagedsurfaces,andanyburrsontheedgesshallberemovedtoensurea goodfitup. Bothcomponentsshallbedegreasedandthelargercomponentshallbecoatedononesidewithshopprimerprior totesting.Thethicknessoftheshopprimershallbeuniformandinaccordancewiththesuppliersrecommendation. Unlessotherwisespecified,th

32、especimenscanbeweldedafteradryingperiodofatleast10daysatasurface temperatureabove10 o Cbutbelow40 o Candataminimumairhumidityof50%.Alternativeconditionsforstorage shallbemonitoredandreportedinthetestreport. Thethicknessshallbechecked,e.g.byuseofsmallsmoothsteelplatesorglassplates,seealsoENISO2808. N

33、OTE Forprotectionoftheenvironmentthedegreasingofthetestpiecesshouldbedonebyimmersingtheminnoncycle hydrocarbon,aqueoscleaningagentsorequivalentnonhalogenatedorhalogenfreeorganicdegreasingagent. 4.3 Procedure 4.3.1 Welding Thespecimensshallbeclampedinahydraulicviceovertheirentirelength,theclampingfor

43、Weldabilitytest 5.1 Principle Thistestdetailsconditionsforassessmentoftheweldabilityofashopprimercoatingonsteel,usingarcwelding processes. Theconditionsachievedbyapplyingaforceatspecifiedpositionsalongthejointresultinafilletjointwith“zero gap”.Itisconsideredthatthisresultsinporositylevelsarenotencounteredinpractice(unlesszerogapisspecified andachieved).
