7、DTD5635-1. Basic quality requirements contained in the latest edition of BS F100 have been identified. The standard specifies the requirements for a warp knitted nylon fabric for use primarily in the manufacture of towed banner targets. A British Standard does not purport to include all the necessar

8、y provisions of a contract. Users of British Standards are responsible for their correct application. Compliance with a British Standard does not of itself confer immunity from legal obligations. 10、knitted nylon fabric primarily for the manufacture of towed banner targets. NOTE 1The title of the publication referred to in this standard is given on the inside back cover. NOTE 2The latest revision of an aerospace series standard is indicated by a prefix number. 2 General requirements In addition

11、 to the requirements specified in clauses3 to9, the following clauses of the latest edition of BS F100 shall apply. 3 Yarn 3.1 The fabric shall be manufactured from bright, continuous filament nylon6.6 yarn. 3.2 The yarn shall have a nominal tenacity of71cN/tex. 3.3 The nominal yarn construction sha

12、ll be either: a) all700 dtex f100 spinning with one end in each working guide; or b) all235 dtex f34 3S100 with one end in each working guide. 4 Manufacture 4.1 The fabric shall be knitted on a latch or compound needle warp knitting machine of the raschel type with one looping bar, two inlaying bars

13、 and one selvedge bar. NOTEThe use of a machine containing9 or10 needles per inch has been found satisfactory. 4.2 The fabric shall have a knitted mesh construction in accordance with Figure 1 and Figure 2. NOTE 1The following quantities of yarn used on each of the four bars have been found suitable

14、. NOTE 2The working guides using two ends of yarn are acceptable in the selvedge. 4.3 Selvedges shall be straight, even and shall not be substantially thicker than the body of the fabric. The selvedge shall be not less than14mm or more than24mm wide. 4.4 The direction of knitting shall be identified

15、 on each roll of fabric delivered by a label endorsed “End knitted last” secured on a selvedge at a position between1m and2m from the last knitted end of the fabric. The fabric shall be supplied with the end knitted last on the outside of the roll. 5 Finishing 5.1 The fabric shall be wet treated to

16、remove the spin finish and heat set at180 C to185 C. 5.2 After heat setting the fabric shall be treated with a water based polyvinyl chloride composition. NOTEA currently acceptable finishing process gives an add-on of10% by mass on the finished fabric. 5.3 Markings regarding the end knitted last sh

17、all be retained throughout finishing. 6 Properties of finished fabric The fabric as supplied shall comply with clause7 and Table 1. 20、0 700 1000 a Determined in accordance with Appendix A.BSF 133:1988 2 BSI 01-2000 7 Type tests 7.1 The flexibility of the fabric shall be tested in accordance with BS F100 except that: a) the specimen shall be500mm in length; five complete rectangles wide in the warp direction and four complete recta

21、ngles wide in the weft direction; b) the specimen shall be held in contact with the horizontal surface by a slider, the undersurface of which is covered by a layer of high friction material. The slider shall be the width of the specimen. 7.2 The mean length of overhang shall be215mm 15mm in the warp

22、 and shall be250mm 20mm in the weft. 8 Defects 8.1 Defects in the fabric as supplied shall be classified and marked in accordance with Appendix B. 8.2 The acceptance limits of Appendix B shall apply to fabric containing defects. 9 Identification The fabric shall be identified by the number and date

23、of this BritishStandard (BS F133:1988 1) ). 1) Marking BS F133:1988 on or in relation to a product represents a manufacturers declaration of conformity, i.e.a claim by or on behalf of the manufacturer that the product meets the requirements of the standard. The accuracy of the claim is therefore the

24、 responsibility of the person making the claim. Such a declaration is not to be confused with third party certification of conformity, which may also be desirable.BSF 133:1988 BSI 01-2000 3 Appendix A Method for determining the breaking strength of the fabric The breaking strength of the fabric shal

25、l be determined in accordance with the latest edition of BS F100 except that the test specimens shall be cut to contain10 complete rectangles widthwise and with a fringe on the longitudinal side as shown in Figure 3. Appendix B Defects, definition of marking and acceptance limits B.1 Defects Manufac

26、turing defects in the fabric shall be classified as either major or minor. Minor defects as defined in this section unless very frequent shall be considered as having no detrimental effect on the performance of the fabric and do not justify special attention. B.2 Minor defects The following shall be

27、 classified as minor defects. a) Filamentation of the yarns. b) One trailing end of inlay, provided such an end is securely contained within the fabric structure and does not extend more than2m. c) Local reduction in width caused by fabric off-pins during finishing provided such reduction does not e

28、xceed30mm and does not extend for more than150mm in the lengthwise direction. There shall be not more than10 such defects per100m of finished fabric. d) One broken end in the selvedge. B.3 Major defects The following shall be classified as major defects. a) One broken chain stitch in the body of the

29、 fabric. b) Two or more threads broken in the selvedge. c) Reductions in fabric width caused by fabric off-pins during finishing, such reduction exceeding30mm or extending more than150mm in lengthwise direction. d) Skewed and bowed inlay: deviation of the inlay from a line drawn perpendicular to the

30、 selvedge in excess of50mm in1m of width. e) Covered rectangles (windowing) to the extent of more than1% in any metre length of finished fabric. B.4 Marking of defects No marking shall be required in respect of minor defects. Major defects shall be marked by means of a suitable tag of a contrasting

31、colour, securely inserted in the fabric selvedges opposite to and enclosing the extent of the defect. B.5 Acceptance limits Fabric shall not be acceptable containing more than four major defects per100m nominal length. Major defects extending for more than2m shall be removed by cutting across the fu

32、ll fabric width. The cut ends shall not be joined. The distance between any two cuts shall be not less than11m, and there shall be not more than two cuts per100m nominal length. A consignment shall be acceptable only if the total quantity affected by markable defects does not exceed5%. BSF 133:1988
