7、f a quality suitable for aerospace purposes and replaces MOD Specification UK/AID/983. During its preparation, the applicable basic quality requirements contained in BS F 100 have been included in the text. The standard specifies the requirements for a coated fabric intended primarily for heat refle

8、ctive covers for aircraft. A British Standard does not purport to include all the necessary provisions of a contract. Users of British Standards are responsible for their correct application. 10、s for a single-ply nylon fabric coated on both sides with polychloroprene rubber and having an aluminized face. NOTE 1 The titles of the publications referred to in this standard are listed on the inside back cover. NOTE 2 The latest revision of an Aerospace Series Standard is indicated by a prefix

11、number. 2 General requirements In addition to the specific requirements of clauses 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8, the following clauses of the latest edition of BS F 100 shall apply (see Table 1): Table 1 General requirements (given in BS F 100) 3 Material The base textile shall comply with the requirements o

12、f BS F 127 fabric number 6 and shall be supplied loomstate. 4 Manufacture 4.1 The textile shall be coated on both sides with a base compound containing not less than: a) 45 % by mass of polychloroprene; and b) 15 % by mass of carbon black; and c) one part of a non-staining antioxidant per hundred pa

13、rts of elastomer. 4.2 The surface designated the inner shall be coated with 125 g/m 2 10 g of the base compound defined in 4.1. 4.3 The surface designated the outer shall be coated with a nominal 80 g/m 2of the base compound defined in 4.1 and shall then be built up to a mass of 105 10 g/m 2with the

14、 base compound in which the carbon black is replaced by sufficient aluminium pigment or paste to ensure that the vulcanized face complies with 5.2. 4.4 The coated fabric shall be vulcanized to comply with 5.4. 5 Properties of coated fabric 5.1 The coated fabric shall comply with the requirements of

15、5.2, 5.3, 5.4 and Table 2. 5.2 Deleted 5.3 The coated fabric shall be free from pin holes when examined in accordance with Appendix A of BS F 100 using transmitted light. 5.4 When tested in accordance with method 25B of BS 3424-22:1983, the coating shall show no signs of tackiness. 18、act and thereafter at intervals not exceeding 5 000 m of fabric or whenever a change is made to the coating formulation. 7 Packaging 7.1 The coated fabric shall be rolled evenly on tubes longer than the width of the fabric. 7.2 Each roll of coated fabric shall be wrapped in black polyethylene film h

19、aving a nominal thickness of 0.15 mm. Each end of a roll shall be sealed to prevent contamination for example by water, oil and dust. NOTE At 6-monthly intervals the rolls should be undone, re-rolled and re-packaged to avoid build-up of heat within the roll. 7.3 The outer wrapping shall carry the co

20、mplete identification marking and state the length of fabric on the roll. 8 Identification 8.1 The fabric shall be identified by the number of this British Standard, i.e. BS F 139:1989. 1) 8.2 If marking of the fabric is required, the marking medium used shall comply with Appendix B of BS F 100. NOT

21、E The purchaser should state in the contract or order if marking is required. Table 2 Properties of coated fabric 1) Marking BS F 139:1989 on or in relation to a product represents a manufacturers declaration of conformity, i.e. a claim by or on behalf of the manufacturer that the product meets the

22、requirements of the standard. The accuracy of the claim is therefore solely the responsibility of the person making the claim.
