17、For the purposes of this BritishStandard the definitions in BS205 and the following apply: transformer rectifier unit a device for converting aircraft main and auxiliary a.c. power supplies to d.c. It includes rectifiers, transformers and associated control and protection equipment 1.3 General const

18、ruction 1.3.1 The design and construction of the unit shall comply with the relevant requirements of BS2G100-1 and of the individual specification. 1.3.2 Unless otherwise required by the individual specification, the design and construction of the unit shall be such that it is suitable for operation

19、 at altitudes up to13700m(45000ft), and over an ambient temperature range of55 C to+70 C. 1.4 Arrangement and construction 1.4.1 Mounting attitude. There should preferably be no limitation in the performance of the unit in respect of the attitude in which it may be mounted. Any such limitation shall

20、 be declared. 1.4.2 Mounting arrangement. The mounting arrangements for the unit shall be such that, under the specified conditions of vibration, acceleration and temperature variation, its satisfactory operation is not affected. 1.4.3 Interchangeability. Units bearing the same type number shall be

21、completely interchangeable with respect to installation and performance. 1.4.4 Endurance. The design and construction of the unit should be such that it is suitable for1000hours operation at maximum operating temperature, and for a life of30000 hours at25 C for static parts and3000 hours for rotatin

22、g parts. 1.4.5 Internal electrical connections. Units shall be designed to operate from a fully insulated system, i.e.all electrical circuits shall be insulated from the frame. In primary three-phase star connected arrangements the neutral point shall be brought out to an insulated terminal, unless

23、otherwise required by the individual specification. Provision shall be made for bonding the case of the unit to the aircraft structure. 1.4.6 Maximum operating temperature. The maximum temperature of the external surface of the unit, whilst in operation at the specified conditions, shall be declared

24、. 1.4.7 Overheating. The unit shall embody an overheat sensing device. 1.4.8 Current measurement. Provision should preferably be made for the incorporation of an ammeter shunt for the current measurement. 1.5 Terminals 1.5.1 Screwed terminals, having Unified threads unless otherwise agreed by the De

25、sign Authority, shall be provided for external connections. They shall accommodate an approved 1)type of cable terminal end, crimped in accordance with the requirements of BSG178 and of adequate rating for the current to be carried, and shall be designed in accordance with the requirements of BS2G10

26、0-1. The main d.c. output terminals should preferably be of different sizes. 1.5.2 The terminals shall be clearly and indelibly marked to identify the associated windings. The input terminals shall be identified by the letters A, B, C, and the output terminals shall be suitably identified. 1) For eq

27、uipment for British civil and military aircraft, the Approving Authorities are the Air Registration Board and the Ministry of Technology respectively (through a design authority approved by them).BSG209:1970 2 BSI 01-2000 1.6 Components All components shall conform to an approved specification 2)and

28、 should preferably be selected from approved standard ranges. 1.7 Rating 1.7.1 Constant frequency units shall be rated at nominal input voltage and frequency to provide a nominal28V d.c. supply. 1.7.2 The rating of variable frequency units shall be declared at a frequency of320Hz. 1.7.3 The preferre

29、d nominal ratings for units at sea level and at a temperature of+70 C are as follows: Amperes 50 100 150 250 1.8 Supply characteristics 1.8.1 Units shall be designed to operate from the constant frequency or variable frequency a.c. power supply specified in BS2G100-3. The particular supply character

30、istics applicable shall be stated in the individual specification. 1.8.2 It cannot be assumed that the maximum frequency will necessarily occur at the maximum voltage, or that the minimum frequency will occur at the minimum voltage. 1.8.3 The units shall be capable of withstanding an overvoltage inp

31、ut and of operating under the conditions of transient voltage indicated by the appropriate curves of Figure4 of BS2G100-3. 1.8.4 Under the conditions of1.8.3 the maximum voltage produced on the d.c. side shall not exceed themaximum limit specified inFigure5 of BS2G100-3, and the decay shall be withi

32、n the limits specified in that standard with10% full load connected. 1.8.5 To assist in determining the effect upon the supply voltage, the significant harmonic magnitudes of the input current waveform, measured with the unit on full load, shall be declared. 1.9 Efficiency Unless otherwise stated in

33、 the individual specification, every unit shall have an efficiency at full load of at least85% calculated on the basis of: 1.10 Regulation With nominal input voltage, and under all conditions of frequency, temperature and loads from10% to100% full load, the output voltage shall not vary by more than

34、2.5V. 1.11 Surges If the nominal rating of the unit is less than the preferred minimum of50 A, and if the inrush current characteristics of the unit are such that a fuse of rating2 A or less is ruptured, the maximum peak value of inrush current of the unit shall be declared with its I 2 t value. 1.1

35、2 Ripple content At loads between10% and100% full load the ripple voltage shall be within the limits specified in BS2G100-3. 2) For equipment for British civil and military aircraft, the Approving Authorities are the Air Registration Board and the Ministry of Technology respectively (through a desig

37、ividual specification, with the minimum specified input voltage. 1.13.2 With the minimum specified input voltage the unit shall be capable of delivering not less than300% rated current for five seconds without damage. 1.14 Environmental conditions 1.14.1 Unless otherwise specified, the unit shall co

38、mply with the requirements of BS2G100-2 in respect of: The unit shall also comply with the vibration requirements of BS3G100-2.3.3, and as detailed in the individual specification 1.14.2 If required by the individual specification, the unit shall also comply with the requirements of2.4.8, 2.4.9 and2

39、.4.10 of this BritishStandard in respect of resistance to salt corrosion, dust and sand, and contaminating fluids. 1.15 Acoustic noise The noise emitted by the unit, when measured in accordance with2.4.11, shall not exceed75dB. 1.16 Radio interference The unit shall be designed to minimize the gener

40、ation of radio interference. The radio-noise voltages at all input and output terminals shall be limited to the levels specified in BS2G100-2.2 when measured as described therein. 1.17 Compass interference The unit shall be designed so that the external magnetic fields produced are as small as pract

41、icable. Measurements of compass safe distance shall be made in accordance with BS2G100-2 and shall be declared by the manufacturer. 1.18 Cooling 1.18.1 The unit shall have adequate cooling facilities so that continuous operation at full load is possible at ground level conditions at the maximum ambi

42、ent operating temperature. 1.18.2 The manufacturer shall supply curves indicating the output at various temperatures when the unit is operating at3050m, 6100m, 10700m and13700m(10000ft, 20000ft, 35000ft and45000ft), or as otherwise specified. 1.18.3 For blast-cooled units curves shall be supplied sh

43、owing the mass flow and pressure head of cooling air required for various inlet air temperatures at sea level,9150m(30000ft) and13700m(45000ft) and with the unit supplying full load at nominal input voltage. 1.18.4 Information shall be provided on the installation drawings about the minimum clearanc

44、es required to ensure that the cooling conditions are maintained. 1.19 Declarations In addition to the relevant declarations required by BS2G100, the following information shall be provided by the manufacturer: 1) Single rating, including any derating for parallel operation. 2) Rated input voltage a

45、nd frequency of the supply. 3) Cooling requirement. 4) Maximum temperature of external surface. 5) Minimum and maximum operating ambient temperature. 1) Normal acceleration Grade C, Class2A(i) 2) Crash acceleration Grade G, Class13 3) Climatic proofness Class1 (with a maximum pressure equal to an al

46、titude of13700m(45000ft)BSG209:1970 4 BSI 01-2000 1.20 Marking The following information shall be indelibly marked on the nameplate, and the modification plate shall provide for ten modification references: 1) Manufacturers name. 2) Manufacturers type (or part) number. 3) Serial (or batch) number. 4

47、) Any other information required by the individual specification. 1.21 Warning notices Any warning notice shall be clearly displayed on the unit. 2 Tests 2.1 General Tests shall be made to prove compliance with all requirements of this BritishStandard. It is not intended or recommended that complete

48、 tests shall be made on every unit supplied. Three kinds of tests, therefore, are specified, as follows: 1) Type tests 2.3 and2.4 which shall be made on each particular type of unit. 2) Production tests (2.5) which shall be made on every unit manufactured to this BritishStandard. 3) Quality tests (2

49、.6) which shall be made on samples selected as specified in2.6.1. 2.1.1 Units subjected to type tests shall have passed the production tests, and the results shall be recorded. The number of samples to be used for the type tests and the order of tests on a particular sample shall be stated in the individual specification. 2.1.2 The Inspecting Authority shall be provided with complete manufacturing drawings of the
