Thereferencemethodforselectionofthesamplefromthebulk

UnlessselectedinaccordancewithannexAitisacceptedthatthesampletakenmaynotnecessarilybecompletely representativeofthebulk.Itisrecommendedthatthemethodofsamplingbepreviouslyagreedbythepartiesinter- estedintheresultsofthetest. 16、tilefloorcoveringswithorwithoutpile. 2 Principle Proceduresaregivenfortheselectionoftestspecimensfromasampleinsuchawaythattheyareasrepresentative ofthebulkaspossible. 3 Procedure 3.1Examinethesampleandnoteandrecordanyphysicalvariationacrossthesample.Suchvariationswouldin- clude,forinstance,rowsoflon

17、gorshorttuftsorvariationsinpile-layoruse-surfacebetweendifferentpartsofthe sample. 3.2Wherethespecimensarerequiredtobesquareorrectangularinshape,cutthemsothattheedgesareparallel tothewarpandweftdirectionsor,incertaintypesoftextilefloorcovering,parallelandatrightanglestothemachine productiondirection

18、.Ifthesampledoesnothaveaperfectlysquareconstruction,stillcutthespecimensasdescribed aboveandnoteinthereportthefactthataslightlyskewspecimenisproduced. 3.3Wherethesampleincludesaselvedgeoredgeoftuftsformingtheactualpile,suchanedgerunninginthema- chinedirection,cutthespecimensothatnopartofitlieswithin

19、 ofthisedge. 3.4Cutspecimenssothatnopartiswithin oftheweft-wiseedge,ortheedgeatrightanglestothema- chinedirection.Ifitisknownthattheweftcutwasmorethan fromapilechange,thencutthespecimenso thatnopartofitlieswithin ofaweftedgeoredgeatrightanglestothemachinedirection. 3.5Ifmorethanonespecimenistobecutf

20、romthesample,arrangethemequallyandaswidelyaspossibleover theavailablesamplearea,ensuringthat(wheretheconstructionallows)thespecimensdonotcontainthesame warpandweftthreads.Ifduplicationisinevitable,thenavoidtakingrepeatedspecimensinthedirectionofmachine production.Noteinthereportanyduplicationwhichoc
