7、spection and testing procedure This British Standard shall be used in conjunction with Sections1 and11 of BS L100. 2 Quality of material The material shall be made from aluminium and alloying constituents, with or without approved scrap, at the discretion of the manufacturer. 3 Chemical composition
8、The chemical composition of the material shall be: 4 Condition Unless otherwise agreed in accordance with BSL100, Section11, the material shall be supplied solution treated, drawn and subsequently precipitation treated. 5 Heat treatment 5.1 Except as permitted in5.2, the material shall be heat treat
9、ed as follows: 1) Solution treat by heating uniformly at a temperature between510 C and540 C and quenching in water. 2) Precipitation treat by heating uniformly at a temperature between165 C and195 C for3hours to12hours. 5.2 Subject to the agreement and conditions of the Inspecting Authority the mat
10、erial, instead of being solution treated in accordance with5.1 1), shall be quenched in water immediately after leaving the extrusion die. 6 Mechanical properties 6.1 Tensile test 1) . The mechanical properties obtained from test pieces selected and prepared in accordance with the relevant requireme
11、nts of BSL100 shall be not less than the following values: Element % min. max.
