NOTE 2The chemical composition of this material complies with that registered as International Designation 6061. 1 Inspection and testing procedure 1.1 This British Standard shall be used
8、in conjunction with sections 1 and 11, and the requirements relating to the single drifting test in section 10, of the latest issue of BSL100, except as specified in6.2 and clause7 below. 1.2 The tube shall be seamless and uniform in quality. Both exterior and interior surfaces shall be clean and fr
9、ee from harmful defects including, but not limited to, slivers, folds, laminations, grooves and cracks. 2 Quality of material The material shall be made from aluminium and alloying constituents, with or without approved scrap at the discretion, on of the manufacturer. 3 Chemical composition The chem
10、ical composition of the material shall be: 4 Condition The material shall be supplied solution treated and artificially aged. 5 Heat treatment The material shall be heat treated as follows: a) solution treat by heating uniformly at a temperature between510 C and540 C and quenching in water at a temp

The mechanical properties obtained from test pieces sele
13、cted and prepared in accordance with the relevant requirements of BSL100 shall be not less than the following values: NOTEInformation on SI units is given in BS 3763 “The International System of units (SI)” and BS 350 “Conversion factors and tables”. 6.2 Flattening test. The specified number of tube
14、s shall be subjected to the flattening test, in accordance with the requirements of BSL100 except that hammer blows shall not be used. The distance between the inner sides of the test piece after flattening shall not exceed the following values: 6.3 Single drifting test. 10% of tubes shall be subjec
15、ted to the single drifting test. 6.4 Hydraulic distention test. One sample of tube at least500mm long in each batch shall be tested to the appropriate pressure determined from the following formula: pressure (MPa) = 240 where D is the maximum outside diameter (i.e.nominal outside diameter plus ovali
16、ty tolerance); d is the maximum inside diameter (i.e.D minus twice the minimum thickness at any point). The sample tube shall not burst, nor show a permanent increase in mean diameter greater than0.2%. Examples of the application of this formula are given in the following table. Nominal thickness 0.
