2、ithin the Federal Department of Supply and SeMces The CGSB is engaged in the production of voluntary standards in a wide range of subject areas through the media of standards committees and the consensus proces. The standards committees are composed of representatives of relevant interests including

3、 producers, consumers and other users, retailers, governments, educational institutions, technical, professional and trade societies, and research and testing organizations. Any given standard is developed on the consensus of views expressed by such representatives. The Ministers Advisory Council on

4、 CGSB reviews the results of the consensus P-. The CGSB has been accredited by the Standards Council of Canada as a national standards-writing organbtion. The standards that it develops and offers as National Standards of Canada conform to the criteria and procedures established for this pupose by t

5、he Standards Council of Canada. In addition to standards it publishes as national standards, the CGSB produces standards to meet particular needs, in response to requests from a variety of sources in both the public and private sectors. Both CGSB standards and national standards developed by the CGS

6、B are developed in conformance with the policies described in the Policy Manual for the Development and Maintenance of Standards by CGSB. CGSB standards are subjeet to review and revision at any time, 80 as to ensure that they keep abreast of technological progress. Suggestions for their improvement

7、 which are always welcome, should be brought to the notice of the standards committees concerned. Changes to standards are issued either as separate amendment sheets or in new editions of standards. An upto-date listing of CGSB standards, including details on latest issues and amendments, and order

8、ing instructions, will be found in the CGSB Catalogue which is published annually and is available without charge upon request. Although the intended primary application of this standard is stated in its Scope, it is important to note that it remains the responsibility of the users of the standard t

24、des CAN/CGSB-12.13-M79 CANADIAN GENERAL STANDARDS BOARD PATTERNED GLASS SCOPE This standard applies to fiat, translucent, rolled or cast glass having a pattern or figure on one or both surfaces, used primarily in buildings for doors, windows, interior and exterior walls and for decorative purposes.

25、The testing and evaluation of a product against this standard may require the use of materials and/or equipment that could be hazardous. This document does not purport to address all the safety aspects associated with its use. Anyone using this standard has the responsibility to consult the appropri

TERMiNOLOGY Fire Cracks - Fire

28、 cracks are cracks caused by local temperature shock during manufacture. Open Gaseous Inclusions - Open gaseous inclusions are bubbles at the surface of the glass that are open, leaving a cavity in the finished surface. Stones - Any crystalline inclusion imbedded in the glass. CLASSIFICATION Pattern

29、ed glass shall be supplied in the following types and styles as specified (par. 9.1): Types Type 1 - Annealed Type 2 - Tempered Type 3 - Wired. Styles Style A - Figured on one surface Style B - Figured on both surfaces. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS Surface Pattern and Colour - The surface pattern and colour

30、 of glass shall be as agreed between the authority applying this standard and the supplier and as specified (par. 9.1). 1 5.2 Surface Treatment - When specified ar. 9.1), the patterned or nonpatterned surfaces of the glass shall be further processed to increase obscurity (by etching, sandblasting, e

31、tc.). Edges - Edges shall be cut, ground, swiped, seamed, ground and polished, beveled or mitred, as specified ar. 9.1). 5.3 Thickness Tolerance 6. DETAILED REQUIREMENTS Length and Width Tolerance of Cut Sizes 6.1 Quaiity - Patterned glass shall be free from fire cracks and stones which can cause sp

32、ontaneous breakage. Type2 tempered glass shall conform to CAN/CGSB-12.1-M and Type3 wired glass shall conform to CAN/CGSB-12.11-M. The surface pattern shall be free from disfiguration which affects the appearance of the pattern. For Style A glass, the nonpattemed surface shall be free from open gase

33、ous inclusions greater than 2.5 mm in diameter or equivalent elliptical open inclusions up to 20 mm long with not more than three of the maximum size in any 5 m2 of each cut sheet. The glass shall be viewed in accordance with par. 8.2.1. Dimensions - Patterned glass shall be supplied in the dimensio

34、ns specified (par. 9.1) within the tolerances specified in Table 1. The tolerances on length and width dimensions apply only to rectangular shapes. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY 7.1 Packaging, Labelling, Packing and Marking - Packaging, labelling, packing, and marking of patterned glass shall be according to normal commercial practice. 8. 36、f patterned glass for inspection shall be left to the discretion of the inspection authority, unless a specific sampling plan is specified ar. 9.1). Thickness - Measure the thickness, to the nearest 0.01 mm, at the midpoints of the four sides of the glass sheet. Use a gauge type insument having plates of a diameter of approxima

39、tely 55 mm, within which area the thickness is determined. The average of the four results shaii be reported as the nominal thickness. 8.2.2 ( 9.
