It applies to devices that are of the direct-acting diaphragm type with a mea

21、ns for adjusting the pressure setting. Valves can be with or without an integral bypass relief valve or strainer.1.2 This Standard provides requirements for material specifications, construction, structural integrity tests, capacity, reduced pressure deviations, instructions, and marking.1.3 In CSA

36、sh-fit fitting can be removable or non-removable.Reduced flowing pressure the pressure maintained at the outlet of the valve when water is flowing at a measured rate. Note: The reduced flowing pressure changes as the demand changes.Reduced pressure the static pressure at the outlet of the device.Red

38、(initial) pressure the pressure supplied to the valve from a street main or other supply source.4 General requirements4.1 Materials4.1.1 Harmful materialsMaterials in contact with potable water flowing through the device shall meet the applicable requirements of NSF/ANSI 61.4.1.1A Lead contentValves

39、 intended to convey or dispense water used for human consumption, through drinking or cooking, shall not contain a weighted average lead content in excess of 0.25% when evaluated in accordance with NSF/ANSI 372.4.1.2 Valve and strainer bodiesBodies of valves and strainers shall be made of one of the

40、 following:(a) cast copper alloy;(b) forged copper alloy; or(c) cast stainless steel at least equal to that of Type 300 stainless steel.4.1.3 Corrosion resistance4.1.3.1 All wetted parts of the device shall have a corrosion resistance at least equal to that of a copper alloy of not less than 60% cop

42、el.4.1.3.4 The seat ring in the valve body shall be of material having corrosion and erosion resistance at least equal to that of Type 300 series stainless steel.4.1.3.5 Bolts, nuts, and screws used in the assembly shall be made of corrosion-resistant material or have a corrosion-resistant coating.4

43、.1.3.6 The spring chamber or housing shall be made of corrosion-resistant material or have a corrosion-resistant coating.4.1.4 Other materialsAll other materials for which specific requirements are not provided in Clauses 4.1.1 to 4.1.3 shall be of a suitable quality for the intended service.4.2 Des

44、ign and construction4.2.1 General4.2.1.1 The device shall be self-contained, direct-acting, diaphragm-actuated, and adjustable.4.2.1.2 Construction shall be such that, during normal handling in transit and installation, the device will not be damaged in any way that will prevent it from functioning

45、as required. Cavities in flow passages that could entrap foreign materials shall be avoided, and the interior of the device shall be free of burrs. Devices shall be designed so that they do not produce excessive noise when subjected to any flow rate up to the manufacturers maximum flow rate.4.2.1.3

46、Metal-to-metal seating of valves shall not be used. Either the seat or the valve disc, or both, shall be of nonmetallic materials that will assure pressure-tight seating and reseating.4.2.2 Working pressures4.2.2.1 Devices shall be designed to function properly over the hydrostatic inlet pressure ra
