Text of the Recommendation

2、adopted by the “European Radiocommunications Committee“ (ERC): “The European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (CEFT): considering i that satellite paging services will become operational during 1994 and that many potential users will have a need to travel to, from or throu

3、gh Europe with satellite paging terminals; that the Satellite Paging terminals are Receive-only devices and will receive signals in the frequencies allocated to the Mobile Satellite Service; Qo ii) Ui) that it will be desirable for CEPT member countries to have common regulations at their disposal,

4、concerning the interim type approval, marking, fie circulation and use of Satellite Paging terminals; iv) that Satellite Paging terminals will be required to meet the technical standard of the relevant satellite network operator; recommends 1. that the type testing undertaken by the relevant Satelli

5、te network operator for the Satellite Paging terminals be accepted as a basis for interim type approval until any of the following are applicable: a) A standard has been developed by ETSI for Satellite Paging terminals; b) Mandatory compliance requirement in accordance with the Satellite Directive 9

6、3/97/EEC; c) Mandatory compliance requirement with Directive 89/336/EEC (EMC Directive) modified by Directive 92/3 l/EEC; 2. that CEPT member Administrations shall not require an mdividual licence for the use of Satellite Paging terminals; 3. that CEPT member Administrations shail permit the free ci
