2、cations Administrations, considering - that in accordance with the psinciples outlined in Recommendation T/CS 20-01 i, the exchange and network features which are required for the implementation of services and facilities should be identified and specified; - that for several supplementary services
3、there is a requirement for having a line in a suspended state; - that the users involved can be situated in different countries; - that this feature is used in combination with other recommended features, recommends that the members of the CEPT recognise and use the following definition and arrangem

DEFINTION The hold feature is the ability of the exchange of the user initiating the function to hold one or more of the other parties engaged in an established call in a waiting condition (suspended state, hold state), aft
5、er having interrupted the speech path, without release of any line. DESCRLPTION The hold feature makes it possible in the exchange of the initiating user, as a result of a switching order from him: (a) in a two-party call, irrespective whether being calling or called party, to have the other party w
6、aiting, placed in the hold state, after interruption, without releasing the lines; (b) in a multi-party call, to have one or more of the lines involved held in a hold state, after interruption, without releasing the lines. TECHMCAL CHARACTERISTICS The feature shall be applicable to the called or cal
7、ling party of an established two-party call. The feature shall be applicable to an originator of a conference call as well. The speech path between the initiating user and the user(s) to be placed in the hold state must be interrupted and remain so during that state. The line in the hold state shall
8、 be fed and terminated, for transmission purposes, as in the conversation phase. If the initiating subscriber is being charged for the call, the charging shall continue when the other party is in the hold state. If the non-initiating subscriber in the connection is being charged for that call, the c
9、harging shall not be changed when he is placed in the hold state. The user in the hold state shall not have access to any supplementary service. The line in the hold state shall be released in the normal way when the user in the hold state clears. Note: The studies on this series (T/CS 20) of Recomm
10、endations for the features in an analogue environment has now been terminated. A continuation of the studies has started with the aim to amend these existing features, where necessary, and to specify new features for the ISDN. These Recommendations will be gathered in a new series of Recommendations
