3、agency within the Federal Department of Supply and Services. The CCSB is engaged in the production of voluntary standards in a wide range of subject areas through the media of standards cornmittees and the consensus process. The standards committees are composed of representatives of relevant intere
4、sts induding producers, consumers and other users, retailers, governments, educational institutions, tech- nical, professional and trade societies, and research and test- ing organizations. Any given standard is developed on the consensus of views expressed by such representatives. The Ministers Adv
5、isory Council on CCSB reviews the results of the consensus process. The CGSB has been accredited by the Standards Council of Canada as a national standards-writing organization. The standards that it develops and offers as National Standards of Canada conform to the criteria and procedures establish

CCSB standards are subject to review and revision at any time, so as to ensure that they keep abreast of technological progress. Suggestio

38、s to a minimum density of 500 kg/m3. It identifies a number of different hardboard types and specifies general and detail requirements and minimum physical properties for each type. For information on uses see Appendix 1. APPLICABLE PUBLICATION The following publication is applicable to this standar
39、d: ASTM D 1037 - Method for Evaluating the Properties of Wood-Base Fiber and Particle Panel Materials. 40、CATION The hardboard shall be of the following types, as specified (par. 8.1): Type7 - Standard Hardboard - Substantially as manufactured at the end of the hot pressing, except for oven treatment, or for humidification to adjust moisture content, trimming to size and other subsequent machining. Type
41、2 - Tempered Hardboard - Standard hard- board whose physical properties have been improved by treatment with a siccative material such as drying oil blends with oxidizing resin that are stabilized by heating. The tempering process imparts improved properties of stiffness, strength, hardness and resi
42、stance to water and abrasion as compared to standard hardboard.
