CGSB specifications are subect to review and revision at any time, so as to ensure that they ieep abr

8、east of technological progress. Suggestions for their improvement, which are always welcome, should be brought to the notice of the committee concerned. Changes to specifications are issued either as separate amendment sheets or in new editions of specifications. An upto-date listing of CGSB specifi

Instant wheat cereals are cereals that have been processed so that they can be prepared for table use in not more than 1 min. Plain wheat cereal is cereal that

44、 does not contain added vitamins or minerals. Enriched wheat cereal is the cereal that contains added vitamins and/or minerals. CLASSIFICATION The wheat cereals to this specification shall be supplied either as regular, quick cooking or instant cereals of the following types and classes, as specifie

45、d (par. 9.1). Types and clases Type 1 - Wheat Farina (enriched or plain) Type 2 - Wheat Farina with Bran and Germ Type 3 - Whole Wheat Class A - Whole-wheat meal (regular or quick- cooking) Class B - Whole-wheat meal with mixtures of other cereals (regular only) Class C - Rolled or flaked whole whea

46、t (regular or quick-cooking) Class D - Cracked whole wheat (regular only). GENERAL REQUIREMENTS In addition to meeting the requirements of this specification, the wheat cereals shall comply with the relevant portions of the Acts and Regulations listed in par. 2.1.2, 2.1.3 and 2.1.4. The wheat cereal

47、s shall be properly conditioned from suitable milling grades of wheat other than durum or red durum. They shall be clean, sound, wholesome and free from insect infestations and any other objectionable material. When properly cooked or prepared for table use, the hot wheat cereal shall have uniform t

48、exture, without excessive pastiness or stickiness, and shall possess a good characteristic colour, natural wheat taste and odour.
