CGSB is engaged in the production of voluntary standards in

3、 a wide range of subject areas through the media of standards committees and the consensus process. The standards committees are composed of representatives of relevant interests including producers, consumers and other users, retailers, governments, educational institutions, technical, professional

4、 and trade societies, and research and testing organizations. Any given standard is developed on the consensus of views expressed by such representatives. The Ministers Advisory Council on CGSB reviews the results of the consensus process. CGSB has been accredited by the Standards Council of Canada

5、as a national standards-writing organization. The standards that it develops and offers as National Standards of Canada conform to the criteria and procedures established for this purpose by the Standards Council of Canada. In addition to standards it publishes as national standards, CGSB produces s

6、tandards to meet particular needs, in response to requests from a variety of sources in both the public and private sectors. Both CGSB standards and national standards developed by CCSB are developed in conformance with the policies described in the Policy Manual for the Development and Maintenance

7、of Standards by CGSB. CGSB standards are subject to review and revision at any time, so as to ensure that they keep abreast of technological progress. Suggestions for their improvement, which are always welcome, should be brought to the notice of the standards committees concerned. Changes to standa

8、rds are issued either as separate amendment sheets or in new editions of standards. 37、 5.5 2 Surface Condition - The paper shall be free from blemishes, dust, lint and other particles that will adversely affect its conversion or end use. Formation - The formation of the paper shall be close and even. Watermark - Unless otherwise specified (par. 8.1), a watermark may be present. Trim

38、- The paper shall be trimmed with clean, smooth edges and shall be evenly jogged. If a specific trimming method is required, it shall be as specified (par. 8.1). Successive sheets within any rotary (precision) trimmed stack of paper shall not vary more than 0.3 cm in their relative jogged position.

39、Stock - The paper stock shall normally be free from more than trace amounts (less than 1%) of unbleached or mechanical pulps. Nos. 1, 2 and 4 bond shall have a ragkotton content, but no limitation is imposed on the amount of deinked or non-deinked bleached secondary (recycled) fibre, nor on the amou

40、nt of high-yield pulps, present in the stock of Nos. 2. 4, 5, 7 and 8 bond. Fluorescent (optical) brighteners may be present. Moisture Content - This paper may be used either in air-conditioned pressrooms or in pressrooms lacking relative humidity and temperature controls. Unless otherwise specified

41、 (par. 8.1), the paper at time of delivery shall be in equilibrium with a relative humidity of 40 i 5% at a temperature of 23 f 0.5”C for use in air-conditioned pressrooms. If specified “for use in non-air-conditioned pressrooms” (par. 8.1) the paper at the time of delivery shall be in suitable equi

42、librium with seasonally prevailing relative humidity and temperature conditions. DETAILED REQUIREMENTS Physical Dimensions - The paper shall be furnished in the sheet sizes specified (par. 8.1). The paper shall not be undersize and not more than 0.2 cm or oversize in either direction, except for she

43、et sizes up to and including 21.5 x 35.5 cm, and for sheet sizes 43 x 56 cm and 43 x 71 cm. Sheet sizes up to 21.5 x 35.5 cm shall not be undersize by more than 0.1 cm or oversize by more than 0.1 cm in each direction. Sheet sizes 43 x 56 cm and 43 x 71 cm shall not be oversize by more than 0.3 cm w

44、ith a tolerance of 33.1 cm in each direction. Successive sheets. within a package shall not differ from one another by more than 0.04 cm. Sheets shall be square on all four sides within a tolerance of 0.1 cm in each 76 cm, as determined on a squaring table. The edge bow in individual sheets shall no

45、t be more than 0.1 cm in each 76 cm. as determined by turning a sheet over, butting an edge against the corresponding edge of the sheet below, measuring the gap between them and taking one-half of this measurement. Grammage - The paper shall be supplied in the grammages specified (par. 8.1) as liste

46、d in Table 1. Actual grammages shall conform to the specified grammages within a tolerance of fi%, when determined in accordance with CAN/CGSB-9.0 NO. 7. Thickness - The paper shall conform to the average thickness listed in Table 1 for the corresponding grammages with a tolerance of +8 pm. The diff

47、erence in average thickness between sheets shall not exceed 8 m. Individual sheets shall be uniform in thickness. The difference between the highest and lowest thickness across each sheet shall not exceed 8pm. Grain Direction - When determined in accordance with Technical Section, CPPA standard D.1,

48、 grain direction shall be as specified (par. 8.1). Colour - The paper shall be white or coloured as specified (par. 8.1).
