CGSB is engaged in the production of voluntary standards

6、in a wide range of subject areas through the niedia of standards committees and the consensus process. The standards committees are composed of representatives of relevant interests including producers, consumers and other users, retailers, governments, educational institutions, technical, professio

7、nal and trade societies, and research and testing organizations. Any given standard is developed on the consensus of views expressed by such representatives. The Ministers Advisory Council on CGSB reviews the results of the consensus process. CGSB has been accredited by the Standards Council of Cana

The standards that it develops and offers as National Standards of Canada conform to the criteria and procedures established for this purpose by the Standards Council of Canada. In addition to standards it publishes as national standards, CGSB produce

9、s standards to meet particular needs, in response to requests from a variety of sources in both the public and private sectors. Both CGSB standards and national standards developed by CGSB are developed in conformance with the policies described in the Policy Manual for the Development and Maintenan

10、ce of Standards by CGSB. CGSB standards are subject to review and revision at any time, so as to ensure that they keep abreast of technological progress. Suggestions for their improvement, which are always welcome, should be brought to the notice of the standards committees concerned. Changes to sta

11、ndards are issued either as separate amendment sheets or in new editions of standards. (Note 1) “Virgin Fibre” means fibre from raw material (pulp) which has not been through a papermaking process. I a 4. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS 4.1 Material - Toilet tissue may be made from

31、 either virgin fibre, or recycled fibre, or any mixture of the two. 4.2 Workmanship - The toilet tissue shall be unglazed, soft, flexible and of even formation, and shall be reasonably free from visible wood splinters, holes, breaks, wrinkles. 5. DETAILED REQUIREMENTS 5.1 5.1.1 Type 1, Roll - Type 1

32、 rolls shall comply with the following requirements: Dry Tensile Strength - The average tensile strength in the machine direction for any one ply shall not be less than 110 N/m, when tested according to CPPA method D.32P. 5.1.2 Absorbency - The average absorption time of the tissue as received shall

33、 not be more than 20 s, when tested with 0.1 mL distilled water according to CPPA method F.4. Brightness - There is no limitation on the brightness value of toilet tissue. 5.1.3 5.1.4 Dimensions - Unless otherwise specified (par. 8.i), the width of the roll shall be 10.8 I 0.2 cm and the length shal

34、l not be less than 111.1 m. 5.1.5 The papcr shall be perforated at regular intervals, so that the sheets are easily detachable. The paper shall be evenly wound on a stiff cylindrical pasteboard core having an inside diameter of not less than 3 cm, sufficiently rigid so as not to collapse under norma

35、l conditions of transportation and usage. When specified (par 8.1), rolls shall be wrapped or banded. 5.2 5.2.1 Type 2, Sheet - Type 2 sheets shall comply with the following requirements: Dry Tensile Strength - The diy tensile strength of the tissue, calculated as an average of the breaking strength

36、 values obtained in machine and cross-machine directions, shall not be less than 210 Nlm per ply of tissue when tested according to CPPA method D.32P. Absorbency - The average absorption time of the tissue as received shall not be more than 20 s, when tested with 5.2.2 . 0.1 mL distilled water accor

37、ding to CPPA method F.4. 5.2.3 Dimensions und Packaging - The sheets shall be 10 i 0.2 cm in width and 14.2 10.2 cm in length. They shall be banded together in packages of 400 (2-ply) sheets, interfolded in such a manner that individual sheets will dispense satisfactorily from a container. 6. PREPAR

38、ATION FOR DELIVERY 6.1 Preparation for Delivery - Unless otherwise specified (par. 8.1), preparation for delivery shall conform to normal commercial practice. b Note I: The dejnition for Recycled Paper is based upon the Environmental Choice Program (ECP) definition for Recycled Paper. 2 CAN/CGSB-9.1
