CGSB is engaged in the production of voluntar

3、y standards in a wide range of subject areas through the niedia of standards committees and the consensus process. The standards committees are composed of representatives of relevant interests including producers, consumers and other users, retailers, governments, educatiimal institutions, technica

4、l, professional and trade societies, and research and testing organizations. Any given standard is developed on the consensus of views expressed by such representatives. The Ministers Advisory Council on CGSB reviews the results of the consensus process. CGSB has been accredited by the Standards Cou

5、ncil of Canada as a national standards-writing organization. The standards that it develops and offers as National Standards of Canada conform to the criteria and proclrdures established for this purpose by the Standards Council of Canada. In addition to standards it publishes as national standards,

6、 CGSB produces standards to meet particular needs, in response to requests from a variety of sources in both the public and private sectors. Both CGSB standards and national standards developed by CGSB are developed in conformance with the policies described in the Policy Manual for the Development

7、and Maintenance of Standards by CGSB. CGSB standards are subject to review and revision at any time, so as to ensure that they keep abreast of technological progress. Suggestions for their improvement, which are always welcome, should be brought to the notice of the standards committees concerned. C

For detailed information, see par. 8.2 and Table 1. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS Curl - The paper shall lie flat or have no more than a slight curl tha

37、t can be overcome under normal commercial operating conditions and that does not affect its end use. Surface Condition - The paper surface shall be free from blemishes, dust, lint and other particles hat may adversely affect its conversion or end use. I Splitting - The paper shall show no spiiting (

38、delamination) under conditions of repeated handling. Trim - The paper shall be trimmed with clean, smooth edges and shall be evenly jogged. Formation - The formation of the paper shall be close and even. Stock - The paper stock shall normally be free fmm more than trace amounts (less than 1%) of unb

39、leached or mechanical pulps, except that no limitation is imposed on the amount of deinked or nondeinked bleached secondary (recycled) fibre, nor on the mount of high-yield pulps, present in the stock pluorescent (opticai) brighteners may be present. Moisture Content - This paper may be used either

40、in air-conditioned pressrooms or in pressrooms lacking relative humidity and temperature controls. Unless otherwise specified (par. S.l), the paper at time of delivery shall be in equilibrium with a relative humidity of 45 f 5% and a temperature of 23 f 0.5“C. If specified “for use in non-air-condit

41、ioned pressrooms“ (par.8.1), the paper at time of delivery shall be in suitable equilibrium with seasonally prevailing relaive humidity and temperature conditions. DETAILED REQUIREMENTS Physical Dimensions - The paper shall be supplied in the sheet sizes specified (par. 8.1). The paper shall not be

42、undersize and not more than 0.2cm oversize in either direction. Successive sheets within any package shall not differ by more than 0.04 cm. Sheets shall be square on all four sides wiihin a tolerance of 0.1 cm in each 75 cm as determined on a squaring table. The edge bow in individual sheets shall n

43、ot be more than 0.1 cm in 75 cm, as determined by turning a sheet over, butting an edge agains the corresponding edge of the sheet below, measuring the gap between them and taking one half of this measurement. Grammage - The paper shall be supplied in the gammage specified ar. 8.1), from the ranges

44、listed in Table 1. Actual grammage sha conform to the specified grammage within a tolerance of fi%. Thickness - The paper shall umform to the average thickness listed in Table 1 for the componding grammage with a tolerance of f8 jun. The difference in average thickness between sheets sha not exceed

45、5 p. individual sheets shall be dom in thickness. The difference between the highest and lowest thichess across each sheet shall not exceed 8 pm. Grain Direction - The grain direction shall be as specied (par. til), when determined in accordance with Technicai Section, CPPA standad D.1. Colour - The

46、 paper sha be white, creamed white or coloured, as specified (par. 8.1). The colour and brightness of the paper shall match the supplied reference sample visually in accordance with commercial colour matching praCtiCe. Hyrogen Ion Concentration (pH) - The pH value of the cold extract of the paper sh

47、all not be less than 4.8 when determined in accordance with Technical Section, CPPA standard G.25P. Writing and Ruling Quaiity -The paper shall exhibit good writing quality. Good writing quality is defined as the production of clean characters with no feathering or bloting of ink visible to the unai

Physicai and Optical Properties - Physical and optical properties shall be in accordance with the requirements of Table 1. PREPARATION FOR DELIWRY Packaging - Unit packages shall be wrapped in accordance with normal commercial practice.
