29、e with an open bottom that is supported on feet and can be joined into rows that begin with and are terminated by end closures (see Figure 1).Compound a mixture of polymer(s) with other ingredients, e.g., fillers, stabilizers, plasticizers, pigments, dyes, or curing agents, that is used to manufactu

30、re stormwater structures.Corrugation profile height the distance from the innermost surface of the valley to the outermost surface of the crest (see Figure 2).Cover the depth of soil from the top of a stormwater structure to grade (see Figure C.1).Detention short-term storage of stormwater for relea

31、se at a controlled rate.Embedment the material surrounding a stormwater structure from the bottom of the foundation to the bottom of the fill layer (see Figure C.1).Fill the layer from the top of the embedment to the bottom of the pavement (or to grade for unpaved installations) (see Figure C.1).Fou

36、. The level of protection for UV exposure shall be determined by the manufacturer but shall not be less than six months or the expected storage period before installation, whichever is longer.6.5 CreepPolymeric compounds shall be tested to determine the 50-year creep rupture strength and 50-year cre

37、ep modulus in accordance with the test methods specified in Clause 5.2 of CSA B184.1 and Clause 5.2 of CSA B184.2.6.6 Brittleness temperatureThe brittleness temperature of compounds shall be determined in accordance with ASTM D746.7 Test methods and performance requirementsNote: The test methods spe

38、cified in this Clause apply to stormwater structure original qualification testing and do not necessarily represent required methods for production quality control of critical characteristics.7.1 ConditioningUnless otherwise specified in CSA B184.1 or CSA B184.2, as applicable, specimens shall be co

39、nditioned before testing at 23 2 C (73 4F) and 50 5% relative humidity for not less than 4 h in accordance with Procedure A of ASTM D618.7.2 Physical and mechanical properties of stormwater structures7.2.1 Volume verificationThe volume of stormwater structures shall be measured using solids modellin

40、g software, with a precision of 2%. Alternatively, actual physical methods may be used.7.2.2 Chambers7.2.2.1 Wall thicknessAt least two sets of measurements shall be taken along the longitudinal axis of the chamber, and each set shall include at least eight readings evenly spaced around the circumfe

41、rence of the chamber. At each circumferential position, four measurements shall be taken across the corrugation profile, i.e., one at the valley, one at the crest, and one at each web (see Figure 2).The minimum and average thickness for each set of measurements shall be recorded.Where gas assist flo

42、w channels create void spaces within the wall, the void spaces shall be excluded from the wall thickness.7.2.2.2 Foot widthThe width of the feet of chambers (see Figure 1) shall be measured by taking three measurements on each foot, i.e., one at each end of the chamber and one at mid-length. The min

43、imum and average width for each foot shall be recorded.7.2.2.3 RiseThe rise of a chamber shall be measured by placing the chamber on a flat, level surface and subjecting it to no loads except its own weight. The maximum vertical distance from the floor to the inside face of the valley at the chamber

44、 crown (see Figure 1) shall be measured at three locations, i.e., one at each end of the chamber and one at mid-length. The horizontal dimension from the inside surface of the valley across the chamber width to the opposing inside valley

46、surface at the chamber foot (see Figure 1) shall be measured at three locations, i.e., one at each end of the chamber and one at mid-length. The average of the three measurements shall be recorded.7.2.2.5 Deviation from straightnessDeviation from straightness shall be measured by placing the chamber

47、 on a flat, level surface and subjecting it to no loads except its own weight. Deviation from straightness shall be measured at three locations, i.e., vertical deviation along the chamber crown and horizontal deviation along each foot (see Figure 3). The maximum deviation from the straight line at a

48、ny point along the chamber length shall be recorded.7.2.2.6 Arch stiffness constant (ASC) for chambers7.2.2.6.1 PerformanceThe minimum stiffness of the chambers shall allow for installation within the manufacturers specified range of installation temperatures. The ASC shall be determined in accordan

49、ce with Clause 4.2.2.6.2.Notes: (1) Lower ASC values indicate greater sensitivity to distortion during backfilling.(2) The minimum ASC values for PP chambers are specified in Table 1 of CSA B184.2.7.2.2.6.2 Arch stiffness constant test methodThe ASC shall be determined in accordance with ASTM F2418, except that the length of the specimen shall be two periods minimum (see Figures 2 and 4).The ASC shall be calculated as follows:ASC = F / (y L)whereF = plate load to cause 2% vertical deflection, kN (lb)y = deflection,
