、ies to the electrical features of power-operated dispensers for petroleum-based liquids, including propane and lighter-than-air fuel such as natural gas, used as fuel in internal combustion engines, where such devices are operated at 750 V and less, in accordance with the Rules of the Canadian Elect
、rical Code, Part I, and are intended to dispense the fuel directly into the fuel storage tank for the engine. 2. Definitions 2.1 The following definitions apply in this Standard: Base means that part of the dispenser assembly upon which the dispenser will be installed. Combustible liquid means a liq
、uid having a flash point at or above 38 C. Dispenser means an assembly intended to dispense a motor fuel in quantities selected by a human operator. The assembly may include a power- operated pump, pressure relief device, deaerator, strainer, metering assembly, indicating assembly, control valves, h
、ose, hose nozzle, motor control, locking mechanism, electrical fixtures, wiring, or other optional electrical devices (and housing for all or part of the aforementioned items). These components may be integral with the device or arranged for operation remote from the fuelling area. Flammable liquid
、means any liquid having a flash point below 38C and having a vapour pressure not exceeding 276 kPa (absolute) at 38 C. Housing means that section of the device which encloses and is intended to protect operating parts, control mechanisms, or other components, damage to which would renderthe device i
、ncapable of being operated properly, lead to tampering, or introduce the possibility of escape of fuel. Lighter-than-air fuel such as natural gas means a mixture of various hydro-carbon gases and vapours consisting primarily of methane (CH4) in gaseous form and having a specific gravity in the range
、 of 0.5 to 0.7. Panel means the principal section of a housing or enclosure and/or a mounting arrangement for control and other components. Propane means a material having a vapour pressure not exceeding that allowed for commercial propane, and composed predominantly of the following hydrocarbons, e
、ither by themselves or as mixtures: propane, propylene, butane (normal butane or iso-butane), and butylene. Solid partition means a partition that prevents the migration of vapours between hazardous locations of different classification. 3. General Requirements 3.1 General requirements applicable to
