31、l enclosures, for potentials up to and including 600 volts between conductors and ground, designed to be employed in accordance with the rules of the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I:a) wireways for insulated wires and cables;b) auxiliary gutters (for insulated wires and cables) for use at switchboa

32、rds, meter centres, etc.; andc) associated fittings for completing wireway systems.1.2 These enclosures are intended for use in installations, in commercial, industrial, and some of the larger domestic applications, in non-hazardous locations, and where they are not likely to be subjected to severe

33、mechanical damage.1.3 In this Standard, “shall” is used to express a requirement, i.e., a provision that the user is obliged to satisfy in order to comply with the standard; “should” is used to express a recommendation or that which is advised but not required; and “may” is used to express an option

38、fittings the parts that are used in the assembly of a complete wireway system, such as an elbow, tee, cross, etc.Auxiliary gutter a sheet metal enclosure used to supplement the wiring space of electrical equipment and to enclose interconnecting wires.Wireway metal troughing so formed and constructed

39、 that insulated conductors can be readily drawn in and withdrawn, or laid in and removed after the system has been completely installed, without injury either to the conductor or covering.4 General requirementsGeneral requirements applicable to this Standard are specified in CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 0.5 Co

40、nstruction5.1 General5.1.1 Wireway systems shall include all ducts and fittings necessary to make a complete installation.5.1.2 Unless otherwise specified, auxiliary gutters and fittings shall comply with the requirements for wireways.5.2 Enclosures5.2.1 Auxiliary gutters shaped in the proportions o

41、f a box that has the length not greater than three times the width shall be constructed in accordance with the applicable requirements of CSA C22.2 No. 40, including the thickness requirements of metal for enclosures.C22.2 No. 26-13Construction and test of wireways, auxiliary gutters, and associated

42、 fittingsDecember 2013 2013 CSA Group 85.2.2 Designs of the wireways shall be such that the interconnection of sections and fittings will provide a rigid mechanical assembly and electrical continuity and there shall be no sharp edges, burrs, or other method of construction that can damage the insula

43、tion on wires. Screws, bolts, etc., used in the assembly shall be so designed and located that sharp ends and threaded sections will not project into the wireways.5.2.3 Wireways shall be of metal and shall be so constructed as to ensure ample strength and rigidity to keep their shape and so covers w

44、ill fit properly. Open holes or slots shall not be provided unless they will be closed in the final assembly and installation of the wireway.5.2.4 In auxiliary gutters, the use of a substantial piece of insulating material to replace a portion of one wall of the duct where the wiring goes through th

45、at portion shall be suitable for the purpose. Such a construction shall be considered to be acceptable, provided that the insulating material and the assembly thereof provide strength and rigidity approximately equivalent to that of the duct without the substitution.5.2.5 If the material is iron or

46、steel, both inside and outside surfaces of each length of wireway shall be thoroughly cleaned of all scale and rust. The cleaning process shall leave the surface of the wireway in a condition such that the protective coating (see Clause 5.10) will adhere firmly and have a smooth surface.5.3 Thicknes
