24、quirements of the CSA F379 Series.Note: SDHW systems include those designed to(a) provide hot water in the absence of an auxiliary water heater; (b) preheat water for a stand-alone gas, propane, electric, or oil water heater;(c) use gas, propane, electricity, solid fuels, or oil for auxiliary water

25、heating in an integrated fashion; and(d) use liquid/liquid or boiling/condensing heat transfer between the solar collectors and potable water.1.2 This Standard does not apply to space heating equipment or to collectors designed to form part of a buildings load bearing structure.1.3 The values given

26、in SI (metric) units are the standard. Any values given in parentheses are for information only.1.4 In CSA Standards, “shall” is used to express a requirement, i.e., a provision that the user is obliged to satisfy in order to comply with the standard; “should” is used to express a recommendation or

Flashing the sheet metal work or other weatherproofing used to cover joints or openings in order to prevent water from entering a building.Heating-tape freezing protection the protection from freezing of water in pipes provid

40、ed by the use of electrically heated cable or tape applied to the outside of exposed pipes.Installer a qualified organization or individual, as dete rmined by the authority having jurisdiction, who performs, contracts, or subcontracts the work on any part of the installation of a SDHW system.Manufac

41、turer the manufacturer of a packaged SD HW system, unless otherwise specified.P ackaged system a pre-designed SDHW system, complete with all major syst em components and materials, provided by a single supplier.Parallel mounting the installation of a collector in a plane parallel to the mounting sur

44、r-round systems systems that are designed for year-rou nd use and incorporate freeze protection.4 General requirements4.1 Design and performancePackaged SDHW systems shall meet the requirements of the CSA F379 Series.4.2 ApplicationDeviations from the requirements of this Standard due to practical d

45、ifficulty, novel design, or unnecessary hardship, may occur, provided that reasonable safety and performance is ensured. Note: Permission for deviations should be obtained in writing from the authority having jurisdiction and should apply only to the installation for which it is granted.4.3 Installa

46、tion practices4.3.1 The installation of a packaged SDHW system shall be carried out in accordance with (a) the manufacturers instructions; and(b) accepted industry practices. Note: The authorities having jurisdiction should be contacted for additional requirements for potable water systems, electric

48、he authorities having jurisdiction should be contacted for requirements for the removal or decommissioning of heating and plumbing equipment.4.3.3 When interconnecting with existing equipment, the installer shall take precautions to ensure that existing equipment continues to meet safety requirement

49、s.4.4 PermitsPrior to starting an installation, the installer shall determine whether permits are required from the authorities having jurisdiction.Note: The installation of outdoor solar energy components might also be subject to local zoning requirements.4.5 Access4.5.1 All SDHW equipment shall be installed so as to provide reasonable accessibility for cleaning, adjusting, replacement, or maintenance of equipment, as required.4.5.2 The SDHW system shall be installed so as no
