、for CANDU nuclear power plantsSeptember 20107.5.3 During pressure tests, an independent means of pressure monitoring shall be available during the pressurization phase of the test to prevent overpressurization.7.6 Leakage-rate test method7.6.1 The leakage-rate test method should be the absolute meth

、od using the mass plot analysis technique (see Annex C). The termination criteria are such that the 95% confidence interval is a suitably small fraction of the measured leakage rate and the most recent data remain consistent with the data over the entire test period. 7.6.2 Where the test method spec

、ified in Clause 7.6.1 is not used, an alternative method that meets the intent of this Standard shall be used.7.6.3 The test specified in Clauses 7.6.1 and 7.6.2 shall not be terminated in the event of abnormal trends.7.7 StabilizationFollowing a controlled pressure change, the pressure and temperat

、ure shall be stabilized for a minimum period of 1 h unless a shorter stabilization period can be established. Stabilization is complete when the following conditions are met:(a) the average containment atmosphere temperature change is less than 0.25 K/h and is sustained over a 1 h period; and(b) the

、 mass plot analysis technique demonstrates linearity as assessed by an experienced test engineer.Note: Arrangements should be made to ensure that the atmospheric conditions inside the containment are well mixed to promote stabilization. Well-mixed atmospheric conditions also ensure that instruments

、give a valid representation of overall containment atmospheric conditions.7.8 HumidityThe conditions of the containment atmosphere during the pressure test shall be such that the dewpoint is low enough to prevent condensation on any surface.7.9 Duration of testThe leakage-rate test duration shall be

、 determined by a qualified and experienced engineer on the basis of the allowable leakage rate and the accuracy of measurements established for each test procedure. In all cases, a statistically significant number of valid measurements shall be taken.7.10 Measurements7.10.1 Internal measurements of

、pressure, temperature, and humidity shall be taken such that a statistically valid representation of their behaviour over the leakage-rate test interval is obtained.7.10.2 Pressure and temperature measurements of the surrounding outside environment of the containment structures shall be taken. Where

、 used directly in the calculations, pressure and temperature measurements shall be recorded at the intervals specified in Clause 7.10.1.9(Replaces p. 9, May 2008)N287.7-08 Canadian Standards AssociationSeptember 20107.11 Instrumentation7.11.1 The precision and number of the instruments used in the l

、eakage-rate test shall be determined in accordance with the following, at minimum:(a) the magnitude of the expected leakage rate;(b) the magnitude of the target leakage rate; and(c) the predicted total system error of the calculated leakage rate.7.11.2 Instrumentation for leakage-rate testing shall

、be selected based on the criteria specified in Table 1. 32、onjunction with the tests shall be clearly identified with a unique number and calibrated and certified within 6 months prior to the test or at any time they are suspected of being out of calibration.7.12 Verification7.12.1 An independent means of verifying the measured leakage rate shall be used wh

This may be achieved by one of the following methods:(a) a superimposed known leakage rate (see Clause 7.12.2); or(b) the use of two independent measurement systems to monitor and collect leakage-rate data (see Clause 7.12.3).7.12.2 When a superimposed known leakag
