Amendments This standard differs from DIN 12480:1978-01 and DIN 12481:1978-01 as follows: a) three-neck bottles with and without bottom outlet have been combined in one standard; b) the dimensions have been adapted to the stat
6、e of the technology; c) borosilicate glass 3.3 is now required as the material; d) testing of thermal shock resistance is now in accordance with DIN ISO 718; e) angled design of the neck has been included in the standard; f) the designation of the three-neck bottles has been changed. 7、ns DIN 12480: 1965-12, 1978-01 DIN 12481: 1965-12, 1978-01 DIN 12480:2009-12 4 1 Scope This standard applies to three-neck bottles also called Woulff bottles made from borosilicate glass 3.3 without and with a bottom outlet. The standard specifies the dimensions, designation, material, design and ma

11、(with conical ground socket) in accordance with Figure 1 and shall be of dimensions in accordance with Table 1. The necks may be in vertical position (V, see Figure 1) or angled (W, see Figure 2). 15、ccordance with DIN ISO 3585 and shall be free from residual strain and from glass defects which might impair appearance or durability. DIN 12480:2009-12 6 5 Design The body of the bottle may increase conically from the base within the tolerances given for the outer diameter d. The taper shall be 1 :
16、 30. The necks may be vertical (see Figure 1) or may be arranged at an angle of maximum 45 (see Figure 2). 6 Thermal shock endurance The thermal shock endurance (TWB) of Woulff bottles in accordance with this standard depends on their size and wall thickness. It shall be determined in accordance wit
17、h DIN ISO 718. If needed, the details of requirements shall be agreed when ordering. 7 Marking The bottles shall bear the following permanent inscriptions: a) nominal volume, b) name and/or brand of the manufacturer and/or supplier, c) type of glass, if not identifiable otherwise. In addition, the following may be marked: d) The number of this standard: “DIN 12480”.
