、destructive component tests on samples of the finished flat type connectors taken lot by lot in scale-free condition. Due to the change in friction behaviour in the crown area of corrosion-protected flat type connectors, the breaking force values and the number of fatigue cycles for these connectors

、 shall be deemed to meet the requirements if the breaking force is 90 % of the breaking force BF and the cycle number is 90 % of the cycle number of the scale-free flat type connector of the same nominal size. Breaking forces and cycle numbers for hot-dipped galvanized flat type connectors shall be

、agreed between the manufacturer and user. The scope of the tests covers the dimension test according to 6.4, the hardness test according to 6.5, and the tensile test according to 6.6. Any further tests such as the pendulum impact test according to 7.1 or the fatigue test according to 7.2 shall be ag

、rocedure The Vickers hardness tests shall be conducted according to DIN EN ISO 6507-1. The hardness is determined on a cross-sectional area taken from a connector shackle. The Brinell hardness tests shall be conducted according to DIN EN ISO 6506-1. The hardness is determined on a cross-sectional ar

、ea taken from a connector shackle. 6.6 Tensile test 6.6.1 Testing machines The tests shall be conducted with material testing machines according to DIN EN ISO 7500-1, class 1. The testing of the material testing machines is subject to DIN 51220. The material testing machine shall be equipped with an

、 autographic recorder to record a force-extension-diagram. The material testing machines shall be used only within the measurement range given by the test certificate. 6.6.2 Procedure The tensile force of the testing machine shall be transmitted by means of rigid clamping components. The geometry of

、 the clamping components shall correspond to the geometry of the flat type connectors to be tested, e.g. by fitting a chain link of the corresponding chain on both sides of the flat type connector. These chain links should preferably be of higher strength. The flat type connectors shall be free from

、 lubricants and anticorrosive agents, especially in the inner curves (contact points of the clamping components) and tenon joints, since this could otherwise falsify the test results. Make sure the sample is fitted perfectly. Always align the sample to prevent unbalanced, additional bending loads. 6

、.6.3 Breaking force The sample shall be loaded until fracture occurs. 6.7 Surface test Suitable test methods shall be used to verify that the surface of each flat type connector is free of cracks after the heat treatment.
