Previous editions DIN 22258-3: 1983-09, 1993-01, 2003-08, 2012-05 DIN 22258-3:2016-12 4 1 Scope This standard applies to block type connectors used to connect round steel link chains with the same pitch according to DIN 22252 and flat link chains with the same pitch according to DIN 22255. Bl
12、ock type connectors can only pass over chain sprockets according to DIN 22256 in vertical position. It is therefore essential to observe the position of the block type connectors during installation. Block type connectors according to this standard shall not be used as lifting accessories, slings or

31、k type connector in its central section may correspond to the locking thickness and length of the flat type connector according to DIN 22258-1 of the same nominal size, taking into consideration the sprocket pass and installation properties. Figure 1 Block type connector 5 Requirements 5.1 Material
32、Block type connectors shall be manufactured from a material selected by the manufacturer to comply with the requirements of this standard (at least 23 MnNiMoCr5-4, material No. 1.6758 according to DIN 17115). Materials with deviating chemical compositions shall be agreed when placing the order. 5.2
33、Manufacture Block type connectors shall be drop forged. DIN 22258-3:2016-12 8 5.3 Heat treatment The block type connectors shall be hardened from a temperature range above the Ac3point with subsequent tempering in order to fulfil the properties specified in this standard. 5.4 Hardness Maximum 410 HV
34、 / 405 HBW 10/3 000 (conversion according to ISO 18265 1 281 MPa B.2 HV/HBW). 5.5 Dimensions After completion of the production process, the dimensions of the block type connectors shall be within the tolerances and limit values specified in Table 1. 5.6 Mechanical properties The breaking force shal
35、l reach at least the values specified in Table 2. In the fatigue test, 70 000 cycles shall be achieved per sample for all nominal sizes under the forces specified in Table 3. For block type connectors, the base material in the leg of non-aged normal samples with a V-notch shall exhibit an impact ene
36、rgy 57 J as the average value of three samples. No individual value shall be below 70 % of the stipulated average value (40 J). 38、hall be free from scale, surface cracks and notches which impair their usability. DIN 22258-3:2016-12 9 6 Tests 6.1 General The tests shall be carried out following an assessment of the total quantity. With the exception of the dimension test, these tests will be destructive component tests on sampl
39、es of the finished block type connectors taken lot by lot in scale-free condition. Due to the change in friction behaviour in the crown area of corrosion protected block type connectors, the breaking force values and the number of fatigue cycles for these connectors shall be deemed to meet the requi
40、rements if the breaking force is 90 % of the breaking force BF and the cycle number is 90 % of the cycle number of the scale-free block type connector of the same nominal size. Breaking forces and cycle numbers for hot-dipped galvanized block type connectors shall be agreed between the manufacturer
41、and user. The scope of tests covers the dimension test according to 6.4, the hardness test according to 6.5 and the tensile test according to 6.6. Any further tests, such as the pendulum impact test according to 7.1 or the fatigue test according to 7.2, shall be agreed when placing the order. 6.2 Lo
42、t size One lot comprises a manufacturing unit of 200 block type connectors. 6.3 Sampling The block type connectors shall be free from coatings which might cover possible defects. For the dimension test, three block type connectors shall be selected from one lot. For the hardness test, one block type
43、 connector shall be selected from one lot. For the tensile test, one block type connector shall be selected from one lot. For the fatigue and pendulum impact test, one block type connector shall be selected from each of five lots, however at least, one block type connector per batch. 6.4 Dimension t
44、est It shall be checked that the dimensions are as specified in Table 1. 6.5 Hardness test 6.5.1 Testing machines Vickers hardness tests shall be conducted with hardness testing machines according to DIN EN ISO 6507-2. The testing of the hardness testing machine is subject to DIN EN ISO 6507-2 and D
45、IN EN ISO 6507-3. Brinell hardness tests shall be conducted with hardness testing machines according to DIN EN ISO 6506-2. The testing of the hardness testing machine is subject to DIN EN ISO 6506-2 and DIN EN ISO 6506-3. DIN 22258-3:2016-12 10 6.5.2 Procedure Vickers hardness tests shall be conduct
46、ed according to DIN EN ISO 6507-1. The hardness is determined on a cross-sectional area taken from the leg. Brinell hardness tests shall be conducted according to DIN EN ISO 6506-1. The hardness is determined on a cross-sectional area taken from the leg. 6.6 Tensile test 6.6.1 Testing machines The t
47、ests shall be conducted with material testing machines according to DIN EN ISO 7500-1, class 1. The testing of the material testing machines is subject to DIN 51220. The material testing machine shall be equipped with an autographic recorder to record a force-extension diagram. The material testing
48、machines shall be used only within the measurement range given by the test certificate. 6.6.2 Procedure The tensile force of the testing machine shall be transmitted by means of rigid clamping components. The geometry of the clamping components shall correspond to the geometry of the block type conn
49、ectors to be tested, e.g. by fitting a chain link of the corresponding chain on both sides of the block type connector. These chain links should preferably be of higher strength. The block type connectors shall be free from lubricants and anticorrosive agents, especially in the inner curves (contact points of the clamping components) and
